Hello everyone,

I have been a lurker here for a while but I thought I would share my current progress on my first ever layout. It is called Copper Canyon and it is a freelanced N scale. I will be running steam in the early 1900s in some rural mountain setting. I started a few months ago. Really looking forward to sharing with you guys as I go and getting as much feedback as I can (good or bad!)

This is what I am trying to accomplish. Created in SCARM.

The highlighted track sections are what I have laid and wired up so far.

Tunnel cutaway. I needed access for a tunnel and since it was right on the edge of the layout I thought I would make it into a little cutaway scene.

Overall shot in its current state: Control panel is the black thing at the corner of the L. I currently have 4 turnouts that are DCC controlled as well as toggle switches.

Timber tunnel portal. Note: I am still working on coloring the rocks.. that is why there are 2 different colors :)

Thats all for now. I will keep sharing if there is interest!

If this is your first layout then you've done your homework, looks pretty darn good!
That cutaway looks great and I love the scenery in the tunnel access cut out!

Thanks! Yeah I do a lot of homework. I definitely spend more time reading these forums than actually working on the layout....but you gotta do something while your sitting at work, right?!

Thanks for the feedback!

Things have been slow the last couple of days. I got sick and am just starting to feel better. Not really doing much that translates well into pictures. Basically working on my other tunnels (rock walls and ballast) so that I can put the tops on them.
