Hope this is in the right forum..

I have an old O set that I just hooked up - it's benn in storage for a very long time. A lot of the track was rusted and I cleaned it up with a dremel.

My problem is:

The connection from the transformer seems to be working as the lights on the train go on and the train sounds like it's trying to move but doesn't.

It just sits there.

Where should I start trying to debug this problem - the engine, the track or other?

Thanks in advance.

I'd start with the engine. It could be gummed up with old grease that needs to be cleaned out. For any loco that's been in storage for over a year, the first thing I do is clean out the old lubricant and relube. Most times thats all that's needed.
