Just joined here...Looks like a nice place to spend some time. I see some old faces from other corners of the MRR'ing world. Hope I can add my grain of rice to what seems to be a real Chinese dinner....:D

Welcome Steamfreak
We're really a friendly bunch for the most part, (watch Chris, he likes to put his dinner on other folks tabs) Flo runs the place, and it gets a rehab every hundred pages. (Steam cleaning, repaint, menu update, etc). We talk about all kinds of stuff 'cept poly-tics. Mr Landlord gets reeeaaallll fussy about that. Starts runnin around slappin hands and stuff....

Now we are an informal bunch, so unless you want to be called "steam" or "freak", drop a 1st name in your sig line. Welcome aboard!

Hi Steamfreak, I recognize you from that big forum across the street. I post there once in awhile, but mostly I just lurk. This is the place I consider my 'home'.

Karl - I guess you didn't make it to Glen's Customer Appreciation Day cookout? Neither did I; I had a huge amount of HoneyDoo action items. First, had to take my youngest daughter to a soccer game. Then I had to 'winterize' the swimming pool. And my lawn hadn't been mowed in over 2 weeks so I couldn't put that off any longer. I was busy from 9:00am until 7:00pm today, worked harder than I ever do at my 'paid' job!

Thanks for the kind words guys....Yeah...I've been across the street and around the corner some. Always interesting to see what folks are up to in different areas....

Lunch's on me...anytime someone gets down to this corner of the world....

Is that a "grenade"?
No, it's a "Load of Tin from Dearborn". One of the rare two headlight models. Of course, with that particular car, you could've had 12 headlights on it, and you still couldn't see. It had massive exhaust leaks directly under the passenger compartment. The couple of times I had the misfortune to ride in that car, my eyes burned for 2 days afterward.
Just thinking about it makes my eyes water.

Good morning.

It's 73 and cloudy. The high will be in the upper 80's with a chance of rain.

Still have to fit the roof for the Robert's Dry Goods DPM structure. I may be able to get to that today. Yesterday I started work on a Plastruct water tank kit. By 11 pm I had the main parts assembled and half of the cross braces put on. Today's photo at the end of this post shows my progress as of 11 pm yesterday. This morning I cut and fitted the gusset plates. Later I'll add the remainder of the cross braces.

That car was a death trap alright!:D I admit it, I owned a car a Old person would ashamed to own! The last time i seen it was after I traded it in for a brand new S-10! some red neck family bought it an was spraying fer skeeters as they went down US Hwy 19!LOL's But now I own Obama Motor's brand car and truck!

Good morning folks.

Welcome to the forum Notch and SteamFreak. This isn't the biggest forum on the block, but it's one of the nicest. I tend to hang out 'across the street' as well, but only post if I have something profound to say. Needless to say, I don't post much anymore!:)

My parents had a 1978? Plymouth Volare(sp) station wagon. It was green with green interior. Boy was I happy when we bought a Buick Century in 87'. That was top shelf for us! My family never put a premium on buying nice cars. We had a nice house with really nice stuff in it! That is why I feel the need to drive a nice car. Nothing too fancy, just nice.

I see the diner will be moving in a few hours. Hold on to your hats folks.

Have a great day!
