FYI....Kidney stone can be had by all if you want them! Just start drinking Dark colored soda's Like coke, pepsi, RC, and DR. the Dye in the soda like they ain't going to make it again. It will cause your kidneys to produce stones!
The stones are made up of the crystalline salts in the soda as well as other sources. Been there done that sort of thing. The largest stone I passed was the size of an almond. And boy did it hurt! I couldn't think about anything but the pain, I couldn't see straight and I couldn't stand most of the time. This is pain that you don't want and is a prime reason I drink soda only one or two times a week anymore. What I drink most of the time is plain water.

I know the back pain is a killer and i think P-ing broken glass, sand spurs and fire ants would hurt less! Soda is the Devil!

Jim---Blood? Oh man that must've hurt!! But getting lacerated in the kidney? HMMN--I think I be a little more careful around baseballs now:eek:Audrey wanted to know what happened and she read it ---read it again--then said---"hmmn. Narcotics does funny things to one's writing---" Didn't bother her---she spent some years in Nursing--We both have you on our prayer list----take care
BTW---what happened in Jefferson County anyhoooo?

Chris I'm not much of a soda drinker--maybe 2 every other week but that now seems too much!----I'm starting to wonder about other stuff!

The trestle project is getting slowly together--we're getting some better pix from Eric's dad's buddy out there---complete with the little circles and arrows with the paragraph written on the back---:rolleyes:

Have a good one:):)

I've started on taking down the old backdrop. I've been taking out the screws that secure it to the wall. I'm halfway down the long wall now heading for the northwest corner. After that I'll work across to the AC unit. After reaching that point I'll work over to the northeast corner then south along the short wall. It'll be a little more tricky on that side as the background scenery is glued directly to a reversed dry erase board that covers a picture window on that side of the room. Of 9 windows in the room only 2 are visible. 6 are covered by the backdrop and 1 is dominated by the AC. Most of the windows are small, 16" x 16", 2 are 28" high x 10" wide. My trailer is similar to the one shown on the 'Robert's Road Mobile Home' kit from City Classics.

Evening, everyone.

LOL, BOC. I didn't go back to read my first post until Corey pointed it out to me. It looked perfectly fine to me at 0600 while still under the influence of dilaudid. I had two Mg doses IV in six hours so that' s pretty good load. I'm finally stating to feel slightly normal again. I'm glad your wife understands. :)

This is a hematoma of the bladder, not kidneys, thank goodness. Both are bad but a lacerated kidney can be life-threatening. This is I think is a combination of being hit by that baseball and my chronic bacterial prostatitis flaring up again. The blood leakage from the prostate combined with the injury probably led to the clot formation that eventually blocked my urethra. I did originally think this was a kidney stone because of the level of pain but I didn't have the rest of the normal symptoms like fever, back pain, and vomiting. I've never had a kidney stone nor do I have a family history of stones but I've treated lots of people with kidney stones and even female patients have told me the pain was worse than childbirth. I could see the problem when I got to see the CT scans. My bladder was completely engorged since I had not been able to urinate effectively in two days. It was so large that it was intruding into my diaphragm, giving me shortness of breath. The large mass is right at the urethra, completely blocking it. I think I passed some of the clot once I got the pain meds and I'm only passing small clots today so I hope the bladder is starting to heal itself.

As for kidney stones, there's not a lot of evidence that dark colas cause them unless you are drinking dark colas to the exclusion of any water. As long as you are drinking about 8 glasses of water a day, you should be able to drink colas too although you'll be spending large amounts of your day in the john. Grapefruit juice is really bad and should be avoided by anyone with a history of kidney stones. Green, leafy vegetables can also be a problem for people with excess uric acid formation. The most important factor is family history. If you do have a family history of kidney stones, just drinking as much water as possible every day will delay, although not prevent, the formation of stones. It's just one of the things heredity sticks us with. :(

Anyway, I'm starting to feel better and I hope this post makes more sense than my one this morning. :D

Sheesh Jim!!! I knew you were in bad shape when I read your first post! I guess pain and painkillers are not conducive to clarity of thought! :) With the bladder being a hollow organ and it was FULL...that had to be outrageously painful. I am glad that you are feeling better and hopefully all will be well soon.

Y'all made me hungry with your menu details...so I had a salad with green goddess dressing, a griller sandwich and some rice. Was okay ;)

We hit our high yesterday here in Colorado. Reached 95 degrees. I have absolutely NO complaints this summer. This weekend we will be in the 70's. YES!

Am slowly but surely figuring out my new camera. Went to Pike's Peak on Sunday and took a few decent shots. Tried to post one here and just couldn't get the posting procedure. Oh well...

Hope everyone has a great Friday! (Jeffrey...how's your Mom?)

Sandy

It's........"All-U-Can Eat Fish Fry Friday @ The Coffee Shop!"And Jim's got the Tab!

As for the soda, My P doctor told me to cut out the colored soda. The test on the stones were a result of the soda. I cut out soda, and no more stones:confused:;) haven't had a sione since and thats been two years.:)

Chris, I read another article on an issue in FLA. People are killing horses for meat.

Anyway, heading out of town for a couple of days. see you all when I get back. I planned it on short notice so none of you could plan a party. lol

Bob

OK boys! Get out the 'Short Notice Party Plan' kit! We're having a PARTY!!

Good morning.

It's 72 and partly cloudy. The high will be in the mid 90's and it will be partly cloudy.

Yesterday I got started on the task of taking down the old backdrop. I've removed the screws holding it to wall and am halfway down the long wall. Hopefully I'll get a chance to work on it again today. On the work schedule (there's that dirty 4 letter word) is the mowing of my parent's yard. That'll take a couple of hours, at least, then about ten minutes to get my legs working well enough to walk again. I also have to clean the AC filter today.

Good morning folks

It was 68 F and I headed out onto the fog shrouded roadways this morning. High will be 86 F.

I did not make it to the forums yesterday. I wound up taking the day off from work. I was originally going to take a half since the family and I had appointments with the optometrist. Since my wife is now working Saturday I decided to take the day and we did some of the running around yesterday that we would have done on Saturday. As part of the running we stopped in the local hardware store and I found the parts I will need to install the new kitchen faucet. Of course as luck would have it they did not have the size I need so the search is still on. We picked-up the last of the Back to School supplies and a few other odds and ends.

My son and I discussed how we are going to move the layout so we can add an extension on it. He is going to see if he can get several of his friends to help. We need to move it about 5 feet so we can get the extra benchwork in place. This will give us about another 8 feet by 6 feet space to work with.

This weekend is up in the air now that the wife is working Saturday. I really am not sure what is going to happen. I most like will be in search of plumbing parts. I still need to visit the LHS and get some new decal solution to see if that is the problem with the decaling I have recently had.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Morning everyone. Hope everyone had a good week! TGIF.

Chris: I know as of a few years ago, cities in Minnesota cannot use cameras to enforce traffic violations. The lawyers won that one by saying the camera doesn't prove who is driving the car, so how can you ticket the car owner.

BOC- attached link shows that the Alabama Senate passed a occupational tax bill for Jeff Cty this morning.
hhttp://http://blog.al.com/spotnews/2009/08/senate_passes_jefferson_county.html

Now, to see if it makes it through the House!

The old tax was declared illegal two years ago, but I still have had to pay it into an escrow account. I wonder if I'll ever get any of it back.

Jim- glad you can now notice there is an outside world. My world has narrowed to the 20 foot strip of floor I was pacing in an emergency room lobby. I have rejoiced at seeing blood in my urine, because it means the uretha tube is no longer blocked!

On to more pleasant things, my brother from Spokane, Wash is flying in tonight . He will give me grief about how much progress I have made on my layout since his last visit 18 months ago. That is alright, I deserve it!

Y'all have a good weekend.

Greetings all from Ye Olde London Towne. A cloudy humid 25c day.

Jim: ffs take care of yourself. Maybe you need a nice safe sport like Lacrosse.

Chris: at least you lot will be able to retire. The &*^%s here keep moving the goal posts. It now looks like I won't get my pension until 70 if Gordon Brown and his gang of clowns get their way. Roll on election next June.

Bob: horses for meat? Who do they think they are, French?

Another week over. Nothing accomplished except for surviving the office for 40 + hours. With luck I'll get some more work done on the train shed. Gonna cost about $700 to finish off the interior so its going to take a while. At least when its finally done I'll have a nice climate controlled space all to myself.

Have a great weekend all.

BoB....Florida, has tons of Cattle ranches with some choice moo-moo's on them. Why a horse? The Law Dawg is kept going due to Cattle theft! I was told a few months back that the Cows are slaughtered out in the pasture and the meat is carted out on 4 wheelers to waiting trucks! Nobody ever gets caught either:eek: One slick operation too from what I hear!

Dan....... my state is pulling out the stops when it comes to tickets and doing Anything they can do to make revenue! Now cops can pull you over if they see you ain't wearing your seat belt as your driving by them!
Case in point here: http://www.myfoxtampabay.com/dpp/news/local/florida_highway_patrol_ticket_quota_081009
You tell me?

Chris: As of a couple months ago, you can also get pulled over here for not wearing a seat belt. And its anyone in the car. The nice thing about it, it is not the driver's fault if the other passengers are not wearing one from what I am told.
