Went to start my van earlier today and all I got was a click. So I started checking the usual suspects. Battery connections were clean and tight. starter relay was good. I crawled underneath and there was the three wire plug for the neutral starter switch just hanging. I reconnected it then tried the key again. It kicked right over. Tomorrow I'll be installing the air horn.

Way to go Littlefoot!

I wish I could say that my daughter’s high school volleyball career got off to a good start. They lost to their down the street rival Archbishop Prendergast. Upper Darby and Prendie are about 1000 feet apart. They are separated by Delaware County Memorial Hospital. Many of the girls know one another so it is a bit of rivalry. Varsity lost 3-0 and JV lost 2-0. My daughter is the libiero and she is supposed to get the first ball and pass it to the setter who sets up the kill. Unfortunately the team has several glory hounds who kept going after the ball. They did poor passes to the setter who could not set the play or they overpassed which resulted in the other team getting an easy point. The girls had been told about this in practice but basically won’t listen. I know one of the girls from coaching her in softball and basketball and she thinks she is the star. Both teams got chewed out by the coaches after the matches. The JV coach again told them about getting in my daughter’s way. The head coach reminded them that if they don’t perform they won’t play. I have my doubts the glory hounds listened because they have in the past got away with things and playing because one of their parents or friends were the coaches. They have never played on a team that wants to win and winning is only accomplished by playing your best.

Morning all from Ye Olde London Towne. Another cool one today, 14c again with a high of 20c. Rain expected later this morning.

A quiet Monday at home thanks to looming Tube strikes. My client has switched my onsite working days this week so I get a 4 day weekend. Time to finish off the module wiring.

Jeffery: I'm glad you sealed that hatch.

LittleFoot: Excellent start to the season. Does your team have a name?

Tom: It seems that nothing ever changes. My son had the same thing with his basketball team. There were always 'hotdogs' that had to go for their own glory instead of working as a team. The coaches are in a no win situation as well. If they bench the problem players their parents start interfering.

Have a good day all. I'm off to brew up another pot of coffee and head to the shed.

Boy Bill I sure like the prices for breakfast at your place. We stopped at Ruby Tuesdays for brunch a couple of weeks ago and it costs us $23.

Good morning. It's 71 and sunny. The high will be 93 and there's a 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms.

Not much planned for today. Get the laundry done and (if the weather cooperates) install an electronic air horn in my van. Other than that I don't know what I'll be doing today.

Mornin' yall.

Beginning to feel better with the ribs. They only hurt REAL bad when I have to cough, or worse sneeze! I stopped having blood in the urine after 4 days, so that makes me feel better as well. Still can't turn certain ways, or lift anything, but each day is just a little bit better. Walking is still an adventure!

Dr still doesn't want me to drive until we figure out whats wrong with the BP, so I'm still grounded. As a result of all this I haven't been able to get anything done at all on the RR or anything else, either. Today is really the first day I feel like doing something other than look at the computer screen and try to help folks out with their questions. So instead of being able to run trains to keep the track clean or anything, the track looks like its under 6" of dust.

Well gotta go, the wife wants me to go with her to the grocery store, ("But, honey, you get to ride on one of those electric shopping carts!"), to get something for the ribs "I'm" supposed to cook this afternoon. She seemed to have forgot I can't pick up the racks out of the smoker to clean them, or pick up the 25lb sack of charcoal to charge the smoker with. Hope she has fun!;):D

And the waitress' ain't half bad too!:p;)

Larry, that's kinda the going rate for dinning for 2 now a days! $23 for sit down Actually that's kinda cheap, God when I got Ryan and we step out on guy's night......I spend any where from $20 to $30 for a meal at a sit down kinda place and any where from $6 to $10 for fast food!

I love Rubys Salad Bar/Mini Burger meal! That usually cost here $9.00! This afternoon I got the Dogs and I, 4 jr bacon burgers! I had 2 and the boys each had one!:p If you shop around the diffrent resurants sometimes you run across deals here and there....Try looking for the early bird's:D!

I got the air horn installed and tested just before the storm front came in. Went to Wal-Mart today and priced the head lights. two 1A1's (high beam) and two 2A1's (low beam). I can get all 4 for about $30. I've also been kicking around the idea of taking the fuse block from the Century and adapting it for use in the van. Get away from the AGA glass fuses in favor of the ACT blade fuses. It's hard to find any glass fuses around that aren't fast acting. I haven't seen a single normal blow or slow blow glass fuse at the parts stores.

Chris I was informed the Brunch cost Glendia 28 bucks. We ate at Logans Roadhouse the day before and it was only 30 for the two of us

Carey......take care of yourself man! If the wife wants ribs, tell her to go to a Golden Corral!! Mo manual labor for you for awhile!
Jeffrey. Didja ever get the feeling that there are little gremlins unplugging stuff on you???
Tom. My sons baseball coach had 1 very simple rule. Question the coach about who plays, and your son is off the team. Stated plainly at the 1st team meeting to all the parents. Only lost 1 kid because of it, and played better without him the rest of the season. Of course, I was allowed to question him, because I was the assistant coach, but never about my son!
Chris Why did I suddenly get a vision of you with your last post. A vision of you in a wheelchair, with a gray wig, having Ryan push you into a Denny's do you can get the Senior special??? LOL!

Well. back to paint and spackle for tonight, tomorrow is lawn mowing after work, and stacking the rest of the firewood . Probably have to do it by the headlights of the tractor! More painting for Wednesday thru Friday, and running extra lighting circuits on Saturday out to the garage, Sunday installing new track lighting in the kitchen, (thats it, I'm banishing her from Home Depot!) ,,,,,,,gee, this Harry Homeowner crap is for the birds.....anybody know where I can get a condo with a 22x42' basement??

Has anyone noticed Jim got missing again ?

As well as stationmaster (bob), terry, philip, drew, dana, they all went poof!

Stationmaster has been gone a few months and is missing from another forum as well, he had some diabetic issues i believe, hopefully nothing serious is going on. Jim has 2 daughters in college i believe, so this is most likely a really busy time for him. He was working on a motorhome as well.

Stationmaster is more than likely on the lake with the big boat. Jim has been pretty much MIA since he went to Honduras and came home and got sick.

Good morning all from Ye Olde London Towne.

Another day of Tube strike so its work from home again. Cool and very damp 14c with about 200% humidity. The sun is making a brave attempt to burn off the fog.

Have a great day all and take care of yourselves.

I'm around, but we went camping with no internet access to speak of, and now I have a bad cold. At least, I hope it's just a cold.
*A-CHOO*

*sniffle*....:(

Jeffrey. Didja ever get the feeling that there are little gremlins unplugging stuff on you???
So much so that I've even considered mixing up some anti-gremlin formula.:D:p

Well I actually managed to do something right yesterday:rolleyes:. While I was running the wires for the air horn under the vans dash I noticed a loose wire near to what looked like the terminal it was supposed to connect to. So I connected it. I now have a functional fuel gauge. The air horn works well though it's almost as loud on the inside as it is on the outside:eek:. Not much insulation between the two.

Good morning everyone.

I'm back from the lake with one day off left. It was cold and windy up there so we decided head home a day early. Though we had a good time, you can only play so many card and board games. It feels like we've jumped head first into fall around here. Highs in the sixties, cloudy and windy. What happened to the seventies? We just skipped right over them.

I'm not sure if there will be any trains done today or not. With the tree operation coming to a halt, I have to move on to something else. I can't continue ballasting until I figure out what's causing my lack of power to a section of the layout. Hmm, I may need to paint some buildings since it's getting colder outside. That will allow me to avoid any 'work' on the layout. Trouble shooting just isn't in my vocabulary today.:)

I hope everyone had a good labor day weekend.

Have a good day.
