ModelRailroadForums.com is a free Model Railroad Discussion Forum and photo gallery. We cover all scales and sizes of model railroads. Online since 2002, it's one of the oldest and largest model railroad forums on the web. Whether you're a master model railroader or just getting started, you'll find something of interest here.
When I woke up, it was 54° outside. It has now moderated to 62°, sunny and projected to go into the upper 70s. A perfect morning to cut the lawn. The wife is off to an early start, with Macy's running another sale.
I've always been a rubber-gauger, collecting model trains from multiple scales. Yes, I know you're shocked.
But I thought I had this thing licked, stopping with HO, N, O 3-rail, On30, and S. I mean, what else is left? HOnx is too small, Z - ditto, G - too large and too $$$.
Just when I thought I was safe, I heard this siren song from across the pond. And . . .
I'm now the owner of a Bachmann Branchline OO 04 class shunter (switcher in southern English). 'Course, there's no point having a shun . . . er, switcher without something to switch! And a class 04 isn't exactly going to hook up to a Kadee equipped 60' boxcar. Which means five-plank wagons, brake vans and all those tiny English railway freight wagons. And dont' forget the passenger coaches too!
Jeffery!
How good to see you back at the keyboard!
And you were so good as to relate one of the "FUTHER ADVENTURES OF DR. FRANKENDIESEL".
If I may suggest?
One solution to struggling into your pants is to wear short pants for awhile. It cuts down on negotiating that long folded up pants leg.
Maybe some practice will make you more proficent by late fall.
Dr John- you could use your "shunter" as motive power on a logging railway in a swamp. I have seen some rather eclectic rolling stock in the old logging railroad pictures. One had a box car cut down horizontially to a 3' high gondola as a log hauler.
Jeffrey, nice to hear your back. Hope the "recovery" is something you can get used too!
God's speed, man.
Meanwhile, on this side of the track ... finally received permission from SCE to turn on my solar power installation.
It has been producing 37.5 Kwh ave. per day for the past two weeks - gonna need it today for the a/c - temps are supposed to be in triple digits.
More electrical power = more trains in the wallet!
Good afternoon. It's 84° with 50% humidity. The high will be 89° but will feel like 93°.
Been busy today getting things started with a care provider and home health services. The care provider is just for help with bathing and light housekeeping. Home health care will be providing wound care and some physical therapy. Other than that I have no plans for today.
Getting out of that hospital gown and into some real clothes was inter say the least. I'll have to see if something I can grab or lean against can be put in my room so I can get into my clothes without doing the first seven steps of the ballet. The 'lay down and pull' routine works for most of getting the pants on but there's that point where I have to stand and pull them up the rest of the way. It's going to take some getting used to but I'll be able to adjust to it eventually.
Welcome Home Jeff. It's good to see you back on the forums. Here's hoping you get some good rest and above all, some much better food than what you find in the hospital. Again,Welcome Home Sir. It is good to see you back. William.
True, especially with your sense of balance, or lack thereof. I had to learn to do it whole standing on one foot, but my other foot was still there, just no weight allowed to be on it.
This is to thank each of you for welcoming me here. As you know I was the messenger boy for Jeffrey, and I was more than glad to help out. I certainly admire Jeff's positive attitude. However, the way Jeff was flirting with the nurses I was surprised he left the hospital so quickly. LOL It was good to talk with Jeff's Dad and with Jeff on the phone in recent days. They are first class people.
I see some people here who I have met elswhere, and I'm glad to see them. Everybody here is a good person! If you'd like learn to more about me or my model railroad, let me know. I will be going to AL next weekend. My mother there will be 94 then.
Jeff .... Let us know if we can do anything for you. Take care!

I think most if not all here would say to tell us all about your model railroad. By all means, please post away. And a happy upcoming birthday to your mother.
Good morning. It's 65° with 96% humidity. The high will be 92°.
Already had breakfast and took my morning meds. Caregiver has been here and gone. Had her straighten up the bed. Had her help me get bathed and dressed and sent her on her way. Twenty minutes tops. I have no plans for today.
