Good Morning:

The weather changed again, after last nights five hours of thunder light show (with very little rain). The humidity is supposed to go away. It's 70° and sunny right now, going up to 83°. Good day for outdoor activity.

The alcohol solution should have all the paint loosened on the BB baggage car. I may start building the interior kits this week.

Have a great day.

Joe

Barry the bass man. Sounded like your band had a good performance a few nights ago.

Good afternoon Guys,

It's another hot one here in Central Calif. at 95.0°F with humidity at 9% but with a North Easterly breeze of about 2mph which helps to keep it comfortable. That's the nice thing about the foothills there is generally a breeze blowing.

As the old saying goes, 'The Road to Hell is paved with good Intentions', mine have been to get back to work on the C&S West Shortline but I always seemed to allow myself to get dragged in another direction. Hopefully today will be different?

To show you how bad it been, I bought a new Weller type soldering station and haven't even had it plugged in yet and I need to us it to build several more turnouts too!

There is somewhat of a large Forest fire burning about forty miles to the East that's already consumed about 5,000 acres and due to the steep terrain they are going to let about 22,000 more acres burn also.

Good Evening

It were kinda cool today here..it got to, would you believe, 60? Where'd summer go? ???

We did manage to get some gardening work done around here..yes, including more firewood. Loads of laundry done as well...geeesh. B-|

Pleasant weather today - warm but not hot for Alabama - high around 88. Breezy with a few clouds but no thunder-boomers today (so far). Got a couple of prospect visits this evening, then home again. Looks like my wife and I will be doing some house painting this weekend - two bedrooms. Not my favorite past-time but it needs to be done, so might as well grin and bear it. :)

Is that the one burning West of Riverside, or has another one started?

Other than having lunch at my fathers place nothing happened today. We had pinto beans, green beans, corn and cornbread. There was plenty of sausage, bacon and onion mixed in with the beans. I did play a round of Starfleet1. I came through it by the skin of my teeth.

It's still 87 here. Looking for a high of 98 tomorrow. Well, time to call it a night.

Where 'bout in Alabama are you? I'm up on the almost Tennessee side

Good Morning:

It's 64°, sunny and dry this morning. Looks like another nice day. I have to run up to HD and buy more painting supplies. I used a lot of masking tape yesterday. Then it's back to the patio door restoration project.

Have all the cars of my BB passenger train project stripped, so the next step is to detail and paint and letter each car. I have enough stuff to finish two, then need to get detail parts for the other two.

Have a great day.

Joe

Nothing much planned for today except to stay in where it's cool. I may go to my fathers place later and work on his tractor. He got a new fuel filter and battery for it and installed them. Problem is nothing happens when he turns the key. I'm thinking it's one of possibly three things. The starter relay is bad. The safety fuse is blown. The ignition switch is bad. Of those three replacing the fuse would be the easiest. If it's the relay I have a replacement that I got for the Peerless. If it turns out to be the ignition switch he'll have to get a new one to replace it.

we blew up the vacuum cleaner this morning... B-| :-X

I've been accused of trying to blow up the vacuum cleaner,,,,,but never succeeded. How'djadoit??
I once vacuumed up a lit firecracker with a shop vac,,,,,didn't hurt a thing!

Nice & cool here today, was 62 when I got up,,,goin for a high of 82,,,,not too shabby!:D Supposed to be like this til next week sometime. SWMBO is planning a yard sale for this weekend, since the weather is going to be so nice.
While her and my MIL do that, me & JR will be up on the roof. Ins co did a site survey last week, all they could find was 1 loose, and 1 torn shingle.:p

I've been trying to blow up my microwave......but so far it's only shooting an occasional spark here and there. :p:cool:

I bought our microwave from Sears in 1986 and it still works like a charm. Whoever put the sticky tape on the door, however, did not have his brain engaged. Been looking at that scar for over 25 years.

Got my photo album updated today.

We have a diddo of kbchooch as far as weather goes.

Got my fathers tractor fixed. Just a simple 20amp fuse. Took only a minute to change it out. Took almost forty-five minutes pulling the battery and battery box out and putting them back in. Got the fuse from the old Peerless tractor. You know, it's been sitting for over a year and the battery is still hot.
