Say Jeff,
Cipro is an Antibiotic as I recall and will kill off all of the good germs in your body while it's fighting the infection. You need to be taking a good grade of Acidolphalis spaced in between taking the Cipro so as not to affect it action but replenish your system with good germs especially with the surgery coming up.

Already taken care of.

David, where the heck have you been? Welcome back and good to hear from you! :D

Hi Mike and thanks for the concern,
The past several months seemed to have pulled me away from doing much railroading, at least on my layout, or being active on the forums here.

I'd ordered a bunch of Tortoise switch machines, 27, for a friend in Raymond and I've been over helping him install them at various locations on his layout, we still have 4 to go. It's a two man job to get them centered easily from below as he has all his track laid so it was necessary for me to hold a putty knife down firmly under the track to prevent him from drilling too far upward after getting the template positioned below and marked.

I'm getting back to working on my layout which is long over due, as I mentioned a mouse had started to take up residence in my unfinished Horseshoe Meadow Depot due to an opening that is probably about an 1" x 1.5"s in the area where the station adjoins the raised where house section and had actually drug a branch from a Doc plant into the station.

So to resolve that from happening again I acquired two cute female kitties and they are growing and starting climb all around and investigate everywhere which is a good thing.

Time for some dinner now.

Oh, it's also been very hot out my way which requires a lot of watering to keep things alive and consumes more time.

Thanks for keeping me in mind Mike,

David

No work on the rails as they are still in storage. Largest employer in town laid off over 350 IT workers yesterday. Nothing like having that many more people competeing for the same jabs locally. Most let go were like me, over 50.

That sucks. So much for the myth of an improving economy.

We are supposed to meet at the RC race track this morning to run nitro buggies, except it's raining now and the radar is showing more likely to come. Still hopeful it will taper off later.

Good morning. It's 75° (already feels like 86°) with 99% humidity. The high will be 88° and will feel like 101°.

Looks like today could be a bit wet, not that it bothers me any. I don't intend on going anywhere. There's a possibility of thunderstorms with continuous lightning. These storms are moving southeast.

I finally managed to get to sleep late last night and got a little over five hours. I ache all over though. Really overdid it yesterday. I started the antibiotic regimen last night. That's supposed to go on for three weeks. The doc also has me scrubbing my foot and leg down with Betadine every day. Boy that stuff is messy. It's sort of like iodine on steroids.

Good Morning

Seems to be cooler for today but with those ol' t'underin'boomers ever present..in fact, one just came through not too long ago. B-|

Well, considering that I already am doing a show tonight we will be down at Hawk Rocks The Park ( a local rock festival for charity) it looks to be something of a longish kind of day for us'uns ::)....no traintime today by the looks of things... (:))

Have a good day!!!

Record highs for the stock market and record profits for businesses.................................I guess "Trickle Down Economics" doesn't.

Been a busy day so far. A trip to Wal-Mart to get seven boxes of 4x4 gauze pad, two rolls of masking tape and a 32oz bottle of 91% alcohol. Then a stop at the bank to make a deposit. Then set in on doing more work on the IIe. Changed out the black lettered keyboard with the white lettered keyboard from my mothers IIe. I can see the white letters easier. It's also the type keyboard mine came with originally. The computers case and the shells of the disk drives have been painted a brushed metallic color similar to that of the platinum model IIe. That's it for now.

Good afternoon guys,

It's fairly hot here; Clear & 103.2 *F, the Hummidity isn't too bad at 17% though.

I had some fun running a few trains up the grade from the lower level last night till early this morning about 3:00Am.

I found out yesterday that I have a fairly leaky water line on the back of the house so that's another thing to fix. It never seems to fail that something comes up to interrupt RR time but hopefully the leak problem can be resolved fairly easily. It's just that it's in a bit of an awkward place but I've been watching this develope for a while now thinkink it was the facet that either need new packing around the stem or a leaky faucet washer as the nozzle was leaking too and I wasn't sure where the problem lay. So yesterday I loosened the cap nut on the hose bib and tightened it down more and I guess that flexed the pipe enough it started to leak more. Oh thrill, just what I wanted more work to do but I guess we all have to do it, don't we. I guess we're blessed we can fix things and keep the cost down.

Later.

Well, today went better on the train front. I returned my blown-up J, and swapped it for another new one. So far, it seems to be behaving itself. That's a good thing.

Then I tried to pay my cell phone bill. They wouldn't accept an online payment until I provided them with a 911 response address for my mobile phone. What kind of crack are these people smoking? It's a mobile phone, and every time I needed to dial 911 I was not home. Why in the world would I want to send police and fire to my house if I'm trapped in my truck on the freeway? I finally called 611 and made a payment over the phone. The obviously-foreign-outsourced person on the other end couldn't answer the question, either, so it may just remain one of life's mysteries.

Layout time is rather nonexistent for now. Been working on the rooms that Daughter and Grandson are gonna be occupying soon. One was our indoor storage area, ie junk room. We had placed a ton of boxes, my MR mag collection, old furniture, clothes etc in years ago and closed up. Trouble was, when our hot water drainage faucet broke several years ago, apparently, one corner didn't get dry enough. And yep, when the stuff was removed from that corner, a huge patch of black mold was staring me in the face.

Since Grandson has some breathing problems, that definitely had to go. I decided to get some mold & mildew killer and scrub the wall first, to try to prevent me from having to demonstrate how bad my drywall taping and mudding skills really are. After wearing extra thick rubber work gloves and a chemical respirator for several hours, and being on my hands and kness for that time, I have succeeded in removing all the mold! Next is after the wall dries for at least 24hrs, an good thick application of anti-mold Killz and a new coat of anti mold paint should take care of it. Boy am I tired!

Due to all the rain and storms we've had over the past several months, I'm several weeks behind on some painting I have to finish up for some customers. I've installed 3 Tsunamis in that time, and am just waiting for the humidity to get below 90%, so I can do some airbrushing. Also due to the rain the last 20 ft of benchwork still hasn't been done, and I may get to it this week, (I hope). I need to at least get the painting done, because on Aug the 8th, I'm due to have the first of my cataracts done. I'll be getting an IOL implant to replace the bad lens in my rt eye first, then 2 weeks later, I'll be getting the lt eye done.

Plus somewhere in there, I've got to get Daughter moved in here. I'm really going to have very little time to get anything done before then.:(

I keep seeing on here how hot everyone's been this past month. The normal temp for the state of Alabama for July is from 93-98`during the month, with the average being 96`. We've hit 90` only 2 days so far this month, which is extremely unusual for here. I hope that it doesn't mean that August will be hotter than usual. Since January our temp's here have run anywhere from 4-8` below normal. Very cool year so far. Its rained so much that we're now 20" ahead of our yearly average! Just think that 2 years ago, we were under water restrictions!

Had a friend of mine buy some trains off of one of his older friends and although there were a lot of Tyco and Old Ragular B'mann in the bunch, there were some fine Jewels as well. A couple of brass steamers, 2 P2k 2-8-8-2's and some new B'mann with DCC and IIRC sound on board as well. Well he gave me one of the arties, and that now raises me up to 5 articulateds! I may have to eliminate some engines soon. I know that I have way too many cars, and will also be getting rid of some of those as well.

Well, its getting late and its time for the Saturday Night Bath! Then my bedtime meds and off to the land of Nod. Wonder iffin' I'll be dreaming about trains??????;) All yall need to come down and give me a hand, as I'm sure gonna need it!
