Carey,

The last I talked to Tom(about 3 weeks ago) he was still happy with the engines. I will probably see him in 2 weeks. If he complains, I may run down to his house since we will be in Foley and check out the problem. I know he will be doing a lot of testing the next month or so, since SWARM is scheduled to visit his layout next month.

Glenn

Glenn,

I would appreciate that. I have been trying to get down there for over a month, but so far have been unable to, and with my second eye surgery coming up in a little more than a week, its going to be about a month before we can. I don't like not being able to support my clients. Even if it's something beyond my control.

Good afternoon from the Coarsegold foothills,...

Say Carey, Do you think you have Gary Seritt's wife [SWMBO] buffaloed, I'm sure when you and Gary get together again even a longer time will elapse. I know that's what happens when I have friends stop over or I go over to their place...

David I haven't had any female buffaloed since 1st grade. If she is, she'll know better as soon as she meets me!

Hello Jeffrey,
I hope you have a speedy recovery. I didn't realize the situation was quite as bad as it must have been. I'm sure you'll be back at your place in not to long a time.

We're all rooting for you!

Your friend,

David Smith

Good Morning

Dull and rainy here...high of....65?!?!?

Going to church this morning to put some names on our church prayer list..Jeff's being one of them...

Having a few coffees with some friends later on at the mall as well...

Have a good day!!

Jeff, we have added your name onto our prayer list at Church. Praying for a full recovery, and that the therapy for the new leg goes without problems.

Radar shows some showers coming toward us from Mississippi. The local weather guessers have the showers getting here in the afternoon. If that turns out to be true, the showers would be storms and possibly severe. We'll just have to wait and see.

It was supposed to do storm yesterday, and there was some thunder and lightning all around us, but I think that we got maybe 4 raindrops total.

Carey, if ya got a long enough garden hose, we can send ya some water~~~we're swimmin in it!! 5 a. this morning til about 3 today,,,yech!

Glad to hear Jeffrey is doing as well as can be expected, as everyone is pulling for him!;)

Every few months, our local auction house has a train auction. Last night was one instance. Lots of O, O27 and HO stuff. Most of the HO stuff had been rode hard and put away wet. Prices were all over the place,,,,mostly too High!Surprise Unassembled Varney plastic kits, a flat of 8 for 110.00. Athearn BB kits,,7 for $90.00. I did buy an box lot of disemboweled trains, mainly for a pristine Athearn GP38 shell inside for a whole 5 bucks. Got it home and started reassembling stuff, and came up with a half dozen HO freight cars! But the best deal for me was 3 cases of cork roadbed for $20.00. I paid less for those 3 than I would pay for 1, and now I think I have enough cork for the layout!Big Smile I'll be going back in October for the next one!

Well, gotta go,,been sitting at this computer a few hours now,,,and I gotta go!

It's still morning here, so Good Morning:

Good to hear Jeffrey is recovering from his surgery. Hopefully the recovery and rehab will go well. He is in my prayers, also.

The weather front has mostly passed through Central Jersey. The next several days are supposed to be pleasant.

Tomorrow the wife and I are planning a day trip to "Longwood Gardens", the DuPont estate along Route 1 in Southern Pennsylvania, near Kennett Square, PA.

Have a nice day.

Joe

Good afternoon from the Coarsegold foothills,

I think the wife was glad to have the conn for a change (that is until the little ones staged a mutiny). It was good to get out for a bit and soak up some information. Mr. Jenkins was very hospitable and I do hope to learn as much as possible.

Hoping for a fast recovery for Mr. Jeffrey!

I'm very pleased to report, I just spoke with Jeff. He is very updbeat, and he says he may be leaving the hospital as early as this Friday. He is resting comfortably without any unexpected complications.

I told him about the many posts with Get Well wishes. He is very thankful to each one of you. I read a handful of the messages, but only a small sample of them.

Sounds like he can get on the internet at his Dad's house where he will be staying after leaving the hospital for a few weeks. I told him he should borrow a laptop (computer not the other kind) from one of the nurses he flirts with.

Jeff has a lot of very good friends.

I can finally slow down, and thank everybody for the warm welcome. I should have ackowledged much sooner.

Carey .... I really like the CB&Q locomotives. I have 9313. a sister to your 9314. The 0123 must be a rare brass model. Very nice! I operate HO CB&Q models on the layout which more or less represent the Burlington in about 1962.

As I said, I just joined this forum as a favor to Jeffrey who is on the Model Railroader Forum, too. You seem like some very good people!

I post photos of my layout in Weekend Photo Fun in the MR forum if you are interested. I model the CB&Q. I live in KY on a lake where I am retired with my Main Squeeze.

I see Alabama mentioned by at least two of you. I will be in AL later this month to visit family.

Carey,

When you are planning your trip south, remember my ops session is the 2nd Sat.

Garry,

Where are you going in Alabama to visit family?

Jeffery,

Glad you are doing well. Hope you have a speedy recovery.

Glenn

Glad to hear that Jeffrey is doing well following his surgery.

Heavy rain this afternoon. Something about storms seems to bring out the worst in drivers, at least in this part of Alabama. Came across the aftermath of two accidents within four miles. One was a rear-ender on Hwy 31, the other was about a mile from our house on Hwy 82. Looked like the driver tried to make a corner too fast in the rain and spun out, ending up in the woods. The local constabulary and paramedics had their hands full. Glad to be home out of the deluge.

Good afternoon all,

Say Gary, I Gary, nice to meet you and see your picture. It's always nice to get together with fellow modelers and see what they are doing. The exchange of info really is enjoyable and many new ideas can be learned too!

Thank you much, and to you as well. I see that you are in California - my in-laws are in Hollister.
