Only if I can bring a magnifying glass!

Meant to ask you, have you been over to Tom's house there in Robertsdale? He's having trouble with one of the Allegheny's I rebuilt for him. He says that he can't keep the wheels clean.

Well I've had a very busy day. This morning I moved the enhanced Apple IIe and the old IIe I rescued from the school (the one that needs parts) to my room at my fathers place. I put the rescue unit in the closet and set the enhanced IIe up on a drawing table.

Back here at my trailer I have the black Apple set up. No, it's not a Darth Vader, just a run of the mill 1982 IIe painted black. It's my mothers old unit. I upgraded it from 64k to 128k and enabled double hi-res graphics. I also put in a 1984 keyboard. I have it hooked up to two old disk drives and an 11" trash-80 VM-4 monitor, and in this case the name applies. I literally rescued the monitor from a dumpster back in the late 90's. Half the controls don't work and the case is cracked but it works well for green-screen. And it has a tendency to hum a little bit.

I also got three bags of laundry done. I was hoping I could get the blood stains out of my socks so they wouldn't look so garish. I figured I had nothing to lose so I swiped one of my nieces Oxy-Clean balls and tossed it in the wash. I looked at the clothes when I took them out of the dryer. I'm sold on that Oxy-Clean. It even got the automotive grease stains out. Next time I go grocery shopping I'm getting a bag of those balls.

I also got the yard mowed. My father got a little battery powered pump that makes refueling the tractors a lot easier. I can fill the gas tank in less than a minute and I don't have to lift the can. Great little device. It runs on two 'D' size flashlight batteries. I generally have to fill the tank twice to mow the entire yard.

I should sleep well tonight. See y'all tomorrow.

I finished doing the needed repairs on the water line plumbing so there are no real leaks, just a small drip now and then and I replaced the old faucet washer which some how became split yet the seat was perfectly fine? Not sure what caused it to tear?

Say Carey, Glad everything went well with the eye surgery and I hope your close vision will return for you.

Now it's time to again get out front and water the grass, such as it is and some plants. Fortunately the weather is cooling off for an early Fall Season!

Now it time for Railroading again.

Good Morning

another sunny and cool day...high of 70 expected...hah!! :D

We kicked out the jams last night...getting ready for tonight..see what happens. ;)

Anyhooooo...have a good day!!

Morning everybody! Not too shabby here in central MD, 75 with an expected high of 82, 30% chance precip. That means I don't have any excuses for not mowing my 2-acre lawn **sigh**. Between that and having to take my 17yr-old daughter to BestBuy to get a laptop for college, it doesn't look like I'll have very much mrr time today.

Carey - glad your eye surgery was successful. Speaking of incompetent nurses, my wife and I almost lost our youngest daughter Stephanie shortly after birth because they insisted my wife was "overreacting" to Stephanie's vomiting and lack of appetite. If my wife hadn't "pulled rank" and demanded a pediatrician, they wouldn't have discovered [early enough] that she had a miconium blockage! It's frightening how widespread this problem is.

Jeff - best of luck with your upcoming surgery.

Have a good 'un!

Good morning. It's 81° with 85% humidity. The high will be 95° but will feel like 109°.

Hey Glenn. In speaking of N scale,I don't suppose that you have looked at the Bluford Shops line of cars in N Scale and Horribly Oversize:rolleyes:. If not might I suggest their website: www.Bluford-Shops.com. I have one of their N Scale Short Bay Window cabooses, and it is sweeet. William.

Morning gang! or actually, good Afternoon now!

Ken,,,its rainin up here, put the tractor away! Got both cars oil changed, pulled the headlight capsules out of the Alero and polished them, got a missing shingle replaced and another loose one fixed. Thats it, I'm done! ;)
Carey, glad to hear the eye surgery news! :D
Jeffrey, best wishes for your upcoming surgery, be nice to the nurses, (so you wont loose a finger or two!)

We discovered today we have a mole issue in the back yard....guess I gotta play whack-a-mole for real!:p

Catch y'all later!

*Whew* Yard work done and so am I. Beautiful, sunny day in Prattville, AL but on the warm side. Waiting on youngest daughter to arrive from Birmingham for a quick visit. She's going to a wedding this evening at the local country club but we'll get to see her for a couple of hours first.

Good morning Guys,
It's cooler here too as it seems the Fall season has started and I can't say I'm sorry to see the heat go.

Well I spoke too soon it seems, according to Wunderground Weather it's 90.3°F droping to 66°F tonight and Humidity is 25% and the weather is supposed to get even warmer again. I hope this the end of it!

Say Jeffrey, I also hope your surgery goes well for you, sorry it didn't sink in before.

Say Ken, From the size of your lawn it sounds like you have mini golf course there?

I'm still having a water leak which is evidently coming from the main line which comes up from the Well. It isn't severe but is enough to half way fill up the small hole I dug out a foot deep and it must be coming from the old Poly pipe connection due to a loosened clamp I think, a little deeper so I again have to turn the pump off, drain the pressure in the water system and dig down to it carefully which will be easier now that the ground is fairly wet. Any way more fun and games. Oh Joy. :-((

Hope everyone has a good day.

Ok well, put your pot in there with the other coffee pots.....and help yourself to a donut! :D

Hi, railfan ..... My typing is not very good. LOL. A donut would hit the spot.
LOL!!! Welcome GarryCBQ!

Yesterday our little group of motorheads raced 1/8th scale RC nitro buggies at the track. I'm only allowed to say it was huge fun on account of they told us "what happens at the track......stays at the track"......hee hee! :D

Hello Garry, and welcome! I shoulda connected the dots when I saw the CBQ in your username and Kentucky as your location - but I was a bit slow on the uptake until I saw your hint LOL. This has been my 'home' forum ever since 2005, but I do post on the MR forum once in a while...

Today has been fairly restful. We got some rain this afternoon along with a bunch of lightning and thunder. Went into town this evening with my father and step-mother as we had dinner plans with other family members. Stopped at Wal-Mart to pick up a couple cans of starting fluid for the van and a surge suppressor for the Apple computer in my room. My father says the grounding down there is good but I don't trust wiring I didn't see getting installed. Heck, I installed the wiring in my trailer and did a great job of it according to the electrician who inspected it. Even so I still use surge suppressors.

That's all for tonight. See y'all tomorrow.
