Good afternoon. It's cloudy and 45. I am using the bluetooth keyboard and my tablet, as my keyboard died a horrible death last night. I thought cleaning it might help. I will never know, because at the moment I started, my dog jumped on my leg, I dropped the keyboard, then dumped my soda on it. the dog ran for the hills, I lost my soda and the keyboard looks like I dredged it out of a swamp somewhere. Other than that, I had a good evening.

Good afternoon folks.

We're over 32 and sunny so the roads are melting off. I like the snow on the grass but not on the street. I'm never happy!

I had my problems put into perspective today. A lady I work with found out this morning she has cancer again after surviving breast cancer four years ago. She's been having back and leg pain and was scared to go in and get it checked. Yesterday she had some tests done and was told she had cancer in her lower vertebrae. Not exactly the news you want to hear. They say it's treatable with radiation so there is hope she'll beat cancer again. I just know that the second time around is usually harder than the first. I hope and pray for a miracle for her this Christmas.

I think I need to count my blessings this year.

My wife's cousin is fighting Stage 4 lung cancer right now. This is her fourth go round with different types of cancer but this time the outlook is bleak, at best. She's fighting this one very aggressively and is doing fairly well, all things considered. Makes you realize that sometimes the things we think are big problems pale to those that are.

I think I need to count my blessings this year.

You are right. We all need to count our blessings, and show some gratitude. One doesn't have to go too far to see someone worse off.

I finished the base benchwork for the "last" module for my layout. I also cut out the legs, but have to glue and clamp them in the basement, where it is considerably warmer than the garage. It was supposed to be 2'x4' but somehow ended up 16" longer (to accommodate an Atlas turntable).

I plan on finishing assembly by tomorrow. This will allow track by the weekend.:)

Good afternoon Guys,
It's Cloudy, Cold at 38* and quite wet here Coarsegold, Calif. not sure exactly how much rain fall I've had but it's been quite a steady soaking rain and still coming down.
Fortunately, my roof seems to be holding out ok after my patch job thank God.

As far as 12-21-2012,
I'll have say that I also go along with Jeffrey, and Corey as I think all this stuff is just a bunch of misinterpreted signs. I remember last year the world was supposed to come to an end too on my Birthday 12-15 and nothing out of the ordinary took place, maybe I should say thank God, but doubt it will on the 21 either.

To Corey & Bob,
About your friends with Cancer. I read an article stating to take a Lemon and wash the skin and then freeze the whole thing and grate it, skin and all, over all your food as it kills all kinds of Cancer and naturally too with no side affects!! Be sure to tell your friends, you might just save their lives!

On a side note: I was told I needed two Root Canals and sure didn't want that. I got to thinking that the last time this same dentist told me I needed a Root Canal on a back molar what did I do. So I started brushing and swishing around with Hydrogen Peroxide and now the tooth that was giving me problems is just fine and the HP also help kill any gum disease I may have had. So there are many home remedies that do work quite well.

If anyones interested I posted a heck of a Special on Tortoise Slow motion switch machines as well as Caboose Industries Switch Stands and Ground throws, I suggest the sprung ones.

The best to all of you and we most certainly need to be thankful for our blessings. Not that we shouldn't try to make things better but in most all cases they sure could be a lot worse although sometimes it hard to realize when we feel bad.

We all need to count our blessings, and show some gratitude.

Amen to that. My wife is a cancer survivor, going on 4 years now! Tomorrow she gets to mark another birthday off the list. That's a blessing! :D:D:D

Friends are also a blessing (of sorts), especially ones that drop a box for you at your work, telling you its "old trains" that he has no use for.

It's 36 here now. There's a freeze warning in effect for tonight. It's supposed to get down to 25. I hope I get some descent sleep tonight. I have to be at the hospital early for that stress test.

Time to call it a night. See y'all when I see ya.

David, I like the rustic appearance and earthtone colors of the scenery on your layout. Very nice work!

Mike

Thanks Mike, but your being too kind. Actually, while that's the way I intend it to look like which the Sound Board on the Right somewhat appears like, I'm a ways from actually getting dirt down but maybe fairly soon.

The rustic rural backwoods effect is what I'm after as well as operation.
Here a similar shot with more depth of field and different lighting.

Good Morning:

It's 33F and dreary along the Jersey Shore. Supposed to turn "sunny" with temperatures in the 40s.

Good luck with the stress test, Jeffrey, don't let 'em get to ya. I'm going back to the mall today. My own version of a stress test.

David, the layout is coming along quite nicely. I do like the effects, as well as the appearance of the track.

Good Morning.

Sunny and cold out here today..high of 44F expected...right now we is sitting at...oh...29F....

We had an episode of BrokenPipeVille yesterday...this time right across from mah house...sigh.:( Big ol' lake ensued as well as a lot of brown goop to deal with...sigh:confused::(......back to normal this morning again...:)

Oh well....have a good day!!

Good afternoon. It's 55° and sunny. The high will be 58°.

Got the stress test done this morning. It was a chemical test. Afterward I felt like I had tried tackling a Mack truck with my right shoulder and I had a headache to boot. A light breakfast and a cup of coffee took care of both.

My father had gotten the time of his dental appointment changed to 8:30. He had my niece's husband take him there. I picked him up on my way home.

I discovered I have a leak outside the trailer in the incoming water line. So my niece's husband (whom I mentioned earlier) is taking a look at it. I'm thinking it's just a connection that's worked loose or a bad gasket.

well jeffery i picked up the kyrlon matte clear & it seems to work nicely , i tried it on an old 2-8-0 before i let loose on the expensive articulated beasts i own lol

Yo:

Finished my second mall trip of the week. I survived, and accomplished what I set out to do. However, I didn't remember I had to stop at Home Depot, until I passed the second one. Something to do tomorrow. Dropped off a $20 at the Toys for Tots table. Hoorah!

Good Afternoon.

All the shopping is done...for now....maybe, kinda, sorta, possibilish....

Spent time with the little Spring all cuddled up between my arms purring away... Then went to the trainroom to get some more cleaning done there....hopefully I'll get enough done in there to get one more operating session going before the holidays sets in..oh..oh...here we go with Spring going..mmm..mmm...eehh...eeh...wondering where he is proposing to go now...

Got to get a move on...have a good'un!!!

Well the water leak under the trailer turned out to be a loose connection. My niece's husband fixed it in about fifteen minutes.

My father is doing well after his visit to the dentist this morning. He looks like he went a round with Mike Tyson and lost.

Nothing new on the train front. Didn't even run a train today. Thought about it but didn't do it.

The battery in my van has been giving me fits. Two days now that I've tried starting it just to have the battery run down real fast. So today I put the charger on it and charged it up to full. Then I disconnected the ground cable. Tomorrow I'll check it and if it's low I'll know it's the battery. If not it has to be something in the van draining it. I'm betting on the battery being the culprit!

Time to call it a night. See y'all tomorrow.
