I am putting off my Christmas shopping until the 22nd. That way if the world ends, I won't have wasted my time shopping.

At least, that's what I told my wife. She tends to "snoop" and the late time will ensure she won't have much opportunity for the tape to accidentally come off the packages...

My wife promised to send me a wish list, but so far, nada. If she doesn't want to be disappointed, she better let me know. If not there's this pressuer cooker......:).

Time for me to call it a night. See y'all tomorrow.

For those feeling down in the dumps I have just the thing to lift your spirits.

The Big Hook looks great! reminds me of the Allentown Wreck Train before they converted it to Diesel.

Don't be "stressed" over the tests.

Good morning. It's 31° with 95% humidity. It'll be partly cloudy and the high will be 52°.

The weather service says we're under a freeze warning this morning. Wonder what gave them that idea? Oh well. Good day for staying inside. I have four locos pulling a train this morning. An F7A, two F3B's and the F unit slug I bought earlier this year. No plans for today other than running trains and watching some movies.

Good Morning from Howell, NJ - population near 60k, but not on the map!
The temperature this morning is 44F, and it's Sunny, instead of the usual gloomy.:) Most likely, temperature today will be dropping instead of rising.

I was much more productive yesterday, than I have been in quite a while. My reward is I get to accompany my wife to the mall.

jeffery , i thought you didnt get cold at all were you are??
Who told you that? While we don't get the -20 and lower temps of places up north it can get pretty cold here. Lowest temp ever recorded was -16 (way back in 1899) and the coldest temp I've worked in here was -10. But temps like that are few and far between. Usually the coldest we see in the teens or single digits. The high humidity doesn't help as that makes the wind chill murder. Our average winter temp (December - February) 50.9 degrees. We're the 48th coldest U.S. winter state and the wettest of the continental states.

Good morning from mount vernon, ohio.......a small town with numerous industrial factories......yet no four lane highway goes through here. We have a mere 17,000 population.

Columbus is 40 miles southwest......Mansfield is 30 miles northwest. Marion Ohio is 45 miles northwest.....and has 100 freight trains pass through every day, or at least it did before the economic slowdown in recent years. But it's still a great place to watch trains.....I've been there twice just to railfan in the last year.

I've seen the little ohio central short train right here in downtown mount vernon three times since this spring. A switcher locomotive pulling a couple box cars and grain hoppers comes up twenty miles south of here from newark ohio....about once or twice a week. Here is a picture of the exact locomotive....(unless they have more than one). What model is this?

Hi Joe,
Hopefully there will be a Train Shop there too?

That's the thing I miss around the holiday times that always seemed to be around at various stores were small HO Loco for sale and some were fairly cute too. I still have one little Tea Kettle from many years back and was given another by a friend but of a different type.

Hope you find a Hobby Shop there.

Oh joy. Why do I envision this image of you as a pack mule?:D

Jeffrey:
:D:D:D We were eating lunch at Ruby Tuesday's when I checked my e-mail on my phone. I read your comments and burst out laughing. She's just sitting there looking at me as if I had grown three heads. BTW: My burden was light, only three shopping bags full:D:D:D.

Got to go back, Thursday, and do some personal shopping.

There were actually two Department Stores offering G Scale sets for around the tree, but since Allied Hobby closed all their Mall stores, there is nothing that close, except for a couple of O scale HI-rail specialists.

I should really take a ride up to the Model Railroad Shop, in Dunellen, one of these days. They used to have everything, including a nice offering of scale fire trucks. It's where I picked up two Seagraves - Tillered Truck, and enclosed Engine - kits in HO. Just that it's a bit of a hike.
