Yeah, it's me again. And still hurting. I'm trying not to move around too much. Been watching Bond movies all day. 'Tomorrow Will Never Die', 'Thunderball', The World is not Enough', 'Goldeneye'. Received a box of twenty-five double sided, double density 5.25" diskettes today to use with the //e. Figured out most of the keyboard commands for 'Lode Runner'. Time to call it a day. See y'all tomorrow.

Hope you start feeling better soon,:) til then, just keep watching the Dad movies,,,,,,,no really,,,,my Dads name was James Bond. And yes, I've heard all the 007 jokes by now. People occasionally would say things like "your Dad is really james Bond?" Without batting an eye I would say "Yes, and my mother was a East German figure skater who defected to the west." totally serious, totally deadpan. Now my sons are doing the same shtick with people they meet!
And ironically enough, the family motto, non sufficit orbis translates to "the world is not enough", has a familiar ring to it.:D

Ahhh, But can you say " My name is Bond.........James Bond" with a slightly Scottish accent ?

Yes, I can. And that's quite a feat for someone with a lifetime history of global aphasia. Nine years of my schooling was done in special ed schools with a few periods of home schooling and tutoring. Today I can do reasonably well in most any conversation though I still get lost if the sounds get scrambled up too much. I still have trouble with written communication even though it doesn't look like it here.

I'm old enough that when I was little people asked if I was related to Peter Gunn (given my last name). For better or worse, that reference hasn't had the staying power....

Good Morning, and Happy Saturday!

It's still dreary although the rain has stopped. it's actually supposed to clear, although they have backed away from 60°+ temperatures. Right now it's 46°.

Today, the plan is work on the Layout, then watch football, then watch Hockey. We sort of finished getting most of our leaves out to the curb. Not surprisingly, the town started picking up leaves in our neighborhood yesterday....their notice states "after" the 29th of November. On the bright side, they may have them up before the first plow-able snow comes along.

Jeffrey, hope the pain goes away quickly. Take care.

Enjoy the weekend.

Joe

If somebody asks if there were in any train robbers in my family's ancestral line I can honestly answer 'Yes'. Ever heard of the Reno gang?

Good morning. It's 65° with 100% humidity and patchy fog. The high will be 78° with a slight chance of rain.

No plans set in stone today. I feel much better than I did yesterday. Not so many aches and pains. Today I may see if I can get Oliver out the observation car and into the next car in the train, a coach without getting too many aches and pains or worse getting killed. So far I've positioned three keys, a note and a manual and put in a TV spot for 'Mr Blurry Guy'. Somewhere I'll put in a radio message from 'Mr static Voice'.

Weekend Greetings one and all. My grandfather wrote this book. He was a civil engineer in St. Louis, Mo., building large projects for the city. He collected antique firearms, also antique automobiles which were on display at car shows.

Good afternoon!
Carey and gseritt ... It would be nice to have a get together when we are in AL possibly this Christmas. I'll let you know. I was thinking of model train shops in AL. I have been to the toy store in Homewood, a place called Spivey's in Birmingham (I heard it burned down a few years ago(, and Oak Mountain Hobbies (I think that is the name) south of Hoover. That is a good store. Also, several years ago, there was a small hobby shop in a small town east of Warrior. I think the town was called Trafford and the sore owner was maybe "Bob". It's been several years since I was at that one.

Jeff ..... I'm glad your fitting appointment went well. You are right, the new government health care is screwed up badly. .... Regarding the Vic20, that was the first computer for one of our sons. He has progressed remarkably and is doing very well with an IT career.

I didn't get Oliver to the coach yet but he's in the diaphragms between the observation car and the coach. The train on which he has found himself also got it's roadname today as you'll see if you read the text in tonight's screen from the game. The observation car is finished. Oliver didn't encounter any resistance there. Next I'll start working on the first of the coaches and bad guys and dangers will start cropping up.

Well it's time to call it a night. See y'all tomorrow.

Well today I hope to get Oliver into the last coach (one of four). The order in which he'll progress through the train is observation (been there and done that), fourth coach (ready and willing to dive in and give somebody an attitude correction), third coach, second coach, first coach, diner (glorious name for a car full of vending machines), baggage, crew, service, last GP40 (L&A, on the way to the shop), second GP40 (KP&W), first GP40 (KP&W).

Now a word about Oliver. He's nothing special. Just an out of work computer engineer who couldn't keep up with the technology. In an effort to make ends meet he fell in with some very questionable types who were planning to pull off the crime of the century. He didn't feel good about that and leaked information to a friend in law enforcement. How was he to know the 'friend' was a bribed informant for the group. Oliver was quietly set up and was to be 'taken care of' by 'Mr Big', the groups boss at the end of the line. And now you know why Oliver is in the pinch he's in. He has one chance. Defeat his captors, get off the train and get away.

Time to get on with the day.

Hey Garry. While the Hobby shop is gone, Trafford still has plenty of railfanning. CSX's S&NA Main runs right through downtown, and if I remember correctly, you count on at least three or four in an hour so. Also if you do make it down, I too would like to meet with you and say hello. William.

There is one other Hobby Store here in B'ham. It is Homewood Toy & Hobby in Homewood. They have been around almost as long as Spivey's,but sadly they don't have half the stuff that Oak Mountain has. William.

Oh yeah. Oak Mountain as CJ said, the hobby shop indeed just keeps getting better and better. In fact,it is where I bought my latest brass locomotive,a Southern KS 2-8-0. I think you will be impressed when you see it. William.
