Happy St. Pat's day, all. Evidently this is the first time in 82 years or so that St. Pat's has fallen during Holy Week, and it won't happen again for another 82 years or so. Don't tell anyone, but I still think I'll have corned beef and cabbage today--though someone told me that it's NOT an Irish dish at all. Oh, well--how would I know, I'm Austrian and Cornish, LOL!

Three days of vacation until Triduum, so I'm heading out to the garage to see what I can do about revising the Deer Creek yards. I've either got too LITTLE yard trackage, or it's all laid out backward. Haven't figured it out, yet, but I'm going to work on the engine terminal and see if I can come up with something that at least LOOKS like an interchange point between 'valley' and 'mountain' power. I might end up tearing the whole thing out and starting over again. Yah, plan ahead, right?

Took the car to the shop this morning and left it with them. It should be ready sometime tomorrow. The price tag is about $205. The head man there said that GM makes 6 different types of ABS master cylinders. Five of them are relatively easy to work on. The sixth one is a pain in the butt to bleed. He raised the hood and looked at the master cylinder, groaned and said 'I should have known you'd have the sixth type'. He then laughed and said not to worry, they'd get it done.

I went to work today for the night shift, 2 pm to 10 pm. I had to leave just after 7 because my sciatica started acting up. My backside is on fire from my neck down to my knees!

Jeff, been there. I have also had to go home from work with that. MISERABLE!

Wow, time to go to bed. Darn power naps sure can mess up your sleep habits.

Good morning folks

It was 39 F this morning on its way to 49 F. They keep saying we will have some rain today. It has been a busy morning at work. We had to close a section of I-95 through Philadelphia because of a huge crack in a support column of a bridge. An emergency support system is being put into place and they hope to open the road tomorrow. In the mean time 180,000 vehicles a day have to find an alternate route.

I attended the funeral for my friend yesterday and afterward didn’t feel much like doing anything. Luckily I kept busy. The check engine light came on in the van Sunday night, so since I needed a car to get to the funeral I had to drive my wife to work and pick her up. In the evening the kids had baseball and softball practice. We had to pick up the van and pay $287.00 to have an oxygen sensor replaced. Then I had to bring up the bins for the St. Patrick’s Day decorations so they could be put away and bring up the bins for Easter decorations so they could be put up.

I did get downstairs and set-up a train for the next photo shot and ran the train a few times around the layout.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Morning all!

A wet one around here today! Been raining all night last night. Some areas have already received between 1/2" and 1" of rain. Rainfall totals should end up in the 2"-4" range by tomorrow evening. This much rain will produce significant flooding across central and southern Indiana for the last half of this week. The rain will taper off by late tomorrow afternoon. As colder air returns, there is the chance for a few flakes of snow mixing in later tomorrow. That'll be a mess for those that get flooded! Imagine......not only are you flooded out, but it's ice cold muddy water roaring through your living room! Better get the extra blankets out! We always open our home to flood victims in the area when it gets like this.

So my wife is starting to stress out over this surgery for my son. She just does not do well with even slightly stressful situations. I just tell her that stressing over it isn't going to change it one iota. It's all in God's hands, so just give it to Him and relax. It couldn't be in better hands, could it? Oh well, it's just her nature I guess. And it is something to be mindful of. I mean, my son has the same condition she does, so waking up after the surgery could be a very real problem. Guess I should take my own advice, huh? Just give it to Him!

Oh well, I best get busy!

Later!

You are correct Philip, no sense in worrying about something like that. Hope all goes well for you and your family. :)

Lots of fog this morning, about 1/4 mile of visibility on my way to work. Speaking of work, one of my coworkers has the day off so I get to fill in. His work area is a processing room, kind of like a darkroom with yellow light instead of red, that is about 10' x 8' with some equipment in it. It gets pretty boring in here so I brought my January-April 2008 issues of MRR and I have this forum opened up on my phone. They should help pass the time. :D

Good Morning ! Bill , Tom , Jeffrey , Phillip & Carl ! ANother overcast day here on the Niagara Frontier . Suppose to rain later with a 100 percent forecast from the weatherman . Just wonderding if he'll get it correct ? Well I'll be inside stuffing ao pounds of Polish Sausage anyhow so it doesn't matter what it will be like outside anyhow . Gotta get my work area ready . So here's hoping that everyone has a nice kinda day !!!

Mornin' everyone!

Paul, the Finger Lakes will have a 100% chance of weather today also..... It is currently 40°F outside and is supposed to reach 44°F later. I can expect some snow showers this afternoon turning to just old run of mill showers later. Tonight, on the other hand, is calling for 1/2 inch of rain followed by 1/2 inch more tomorrow. Hope the sump pump holds up...

Got the schedule for the spring musical from the directors wife this morning. I have all of 4 rehearsals that can be used to get sound ready for the show before the first dress rehearsal.... Yeow! I haven't even got mics set up yet, let alone map out the entire show by scene for which mic needs to be on when. I guess they still haven't figured out that good sound is a bit more involved than plugging in a mic and leaving it on all the time. (We go through this every year, and it is always the same.) Somehow it will get done and the show will be well miked (I hope).

I have a dentist appointment early this afternoon and then have to head up to Canandaigua to do some errands. I am actually going to take the day off from recording so that I can get started mapping out the show and hopefully get the paperwork finished for the Electrical Certificate and in the mail to the AP Chair for my Division.

See you all later!
