If the %^#$@! connection stays on!!! GRRRRRR:mad: I have to keep un-plugging the modem and giving it a reset. that's gunna be really annoying soon.

Ken.
DSL? You call the company about it? I've had that problem for the first 24 hours or so of using a computer on cable internet, but never DSL.

On another note, I'm on a NEW computer now. Just bought an open item, HP Pavilion a1410n! Almost $900 worth of computer for $424! I got bluetooth for the wireless keyboard & mouse too (bought separatly), moved the old tower into the living room for DVD's and "simple games" until I buy a new Processor & RAM for it, then I can play multi-player between that one the new one. I'm a happy man today!

I'm gonna go look online tomorrow for a new laptop to replace my broken one, and then I'll either have HP fix it, or find a way to fix it. I tried that boot disk, but you have to save it to 5 floppy drives, it wouldn't let me save it to a CD. Anyone know of a free software I can download to wipe the HD, or would that only work if I had an XP install disk?

New camera coming too, and alot of train stuff... I'll explain later if anyone cares.

Good morning ! from Indiana.:D

Evening all. I'll have the salmon dinner pls. ty
Not much happening thought I would drop in and say hi. been awhile. Did get room straightened up today so now I can start working on fixing the floor and the walls so I can build my layout. Have to fix the door first (so cats can't get in here and go thru any of the holes I make ) Then start on the floor and slowly work on the walls as I do that.

Then maybe will be able to build my layout (still trying to decied wheather it 6' X 11' or will be 8' X 11' the room is 13' X 11' and need room for chest freezer, desk, and filing cabinet)

Will let you all know as things progress.

Nah, I got a loan, personal type, that i was going to use towards a Motorcycle, But I can't get the 2nd half so I bought goodies instead, and I'll try again later when I get settled (mid Sept/Oct...).

EDIT Here's some new images:

Failed error checking (its still broken!)

Hi Coffee Shop dwellers!
Just passing by and thought I might have a late cup of coffee. I finally got 6 more Tortise machines installed over the last few days. I had been putting them off because three of them were in the adjoining room that doesn't have A/C. It was 102 deg in there while I was working on them:eek: .
I finally added the link to my photo album onto my sig...I think. Always forgot to do this. It's a mess over there, but maybe you can step around some of it until I redo it.

Nice pics you got there!

Hey Flo, how about some nice Thai food for our two new members

just been to the Doc's as i'v had a crappy weekend, a nasty little infection has taken hold up the nose so i'm back on steroids and antibiotics (again) and off work for a while, the un-careing one's at work are not impressed, but they don't have to live with this do they. On the bright side i had two Kids bike sirens arrive today, what have i done,,, to say they are loud is an understatement, i even took them apart and taped up the speaker and they are still WAY to loud, oh well, the kids will love them even if the neigbours won't.

Rex 102 deg's,,, pull up a chair and have some fresh OJ you have earned it.

Josh arn't PC's a pain in the butt, i have had trouble with cables and DSL's for a week but only now and again, the phone guy found out what was up and fixed it. What else did you buy Josh.

RT how's it going RT, hope the plan's come together for you

Mornin' Bill!

Steve, sure hope you get feeling better soon. You have had quite a time with all this.

Josh, enjoy all the new "toys". They are looking good.

Rex, 102°? Not my idea of fun! Hope you have at least a good fan in there. My new trainroom in the basement is now staying around 74° (about 8° above what it usually is) because of the pilot light on the heater and the new dehumidifier. Nice thing is the humidity stays at less than 50%.

Thank you everyone. I hope to move all my photos to their new site soon and clean things up a bit. Most all is just showing progress and not very many 'pretty' pictures.

Yeah, Ray it was (is) hot in that room. It is actually another garage that adjoins the one I use for the main train room, which I can cool with a 24k btu window unit. We use it for storage and my work area for large projects, but my track-inclines and connecting tracks are over there via holes in the wall. I would like to insulate this area, but it has such a high roof that it would be very expensive.

PC's are annoying, I've moved my Bookmarks & Emails from Mozilla Firefox & Thunderbird, now to do the moving of music, & the last few files, then a reboot...

As for other stuff, a bunch of train items on eBay & walthers & rrtrains (gonna FINNALY start some modules!), and DVD+R's and a Matrix Collectors pack ($19.99 on base) that comes with all the Matrix movies, animatrix, and the behind the scenes dvd's... and other little stuff too. I'll show the train stuff as it shows up.

wish i had another garage on the side of mine for a helix

Wish I had a garage....... For the truck, not the layout!

An old friend and colleague of mine (retired teacher) called the other day to see if I was going to have a get together for all the (mostly) retired teachers that we taught with. This would be all the Middle School Music, Art, Technology, and Home and Careers teachers that I taught with over the years. I told her that I hadn't started any plans yet, but I was hoping to have a party sometime this fall. It seems that her husband (a retired Social Studies teacher from the Middle School) is turning 75 next month and she wanted to consider having it all together and having it at my house........ I thought that would be a great idea since I am also a friend of her husband and we could easily do it all together. She asked how many people we could have maximum. I thought for a second, and because I live in a quite small ranch house on a corner lot in the city said we could probably handle around 30. Today we got together and started the invite list..... Well it now stands at 65. There is no one on the list that I would want to not invite. So................... I think the local party of the century will be at my house in September. LOL This is going to be a challenge. Hope it is fun!

"Well, hello officer Obbie. Thought you said ya didn't wanna come back out here tonaahht"

Hi gang, I'm baaaack! I had a very enjoyable week at Hatteras Village on the Outer Banks of NC, managed to install metal wheels on ~65 of my older freightcar models. Aside from that, no MRR (online or otherwise). My family is now coping with pre-Back-To-School madness - so many things to register for, so little time.

Rex - Your layout is really spreading like Kudzu!:D Maybe someday I'll feel ambitious enough to build an addition onto my own garage. Of course that would mean also upgrading my HVAC machinery as well $$...

Steve - sorry to hear about the post-op infection problems, hope they clear up ASAP.

Ray - Sounds like you're going to be experiencing the old joke, "how many college students can be crammed into a phone booth" ... Good luck, sounds interesting - try shooting and posting some pics of the event if possible!

NZKen - Welcome to the world of broadband internet, I've been totally spoiled by it since I got it.

Claudia, Happy Birthday (belated :o )

Josh, hope you'll get past your new computer "growing pains" soon so you can show us some pix of you weed sprayer.

RT and Stan, good to see you guys in here for a change!

Back to work... toodles!

Mornin' Bi............. Hey where's Bill? Anyone seen him this morning. He promised more eclairs for breakfast. Oh well, just a cup of Joe, Flo.

Ken, good to see ya back. Sounds like you had a fun vacation.

Got a phone message this morning from the lady planning the party. Said she is rethinking some things....... I have no idea what that means. The only thing I would change is where it is to be held. I am not sure that many people can even fit out in my lawn.

Welcome back Ken! I should have some pics up this weekend. I installed all the needed software to upload the images to the new computer now. I've kinda taken a break from the weedsprayed for the past week though, as I've needed parts I didn't have, but now that I got that scrap parts box from MLW, there was a window thats "prefect" for the front window. The only missing link will be the roll up garage door. but once I get the front window in, I can "seal her up" and start adding some details.
