FALSE!!! This has been circulating now for years usually in January and June. Look it up here: http://www.snopes.com/politics/business/cell411.asp

Been out today looking at refrigerators. The one I have is going on fourteen years old now. It may run for another ten years or may quit in the next ten days, no way to tell. Anyway, I found several that meet my requirements, are new and are below $400. It's always good to know where to grab a new one.

Chris, I'm sure it must have made sense to that officer when he decided to wrestle with an 8 foot gator but I'm pretty sure he thought the better of it after getting his leg bit up. If he was an imminent danger to someone, I might have shot him but I sure wouldn't have jumped on his back. I can tell you one thing for sure. I wouldn't even have gotten near that gator without my Reminton 870 loaded with 00 buck. Handguns will just make something that big madder. :)

Jeffrey, you can be almost 100% positive that any e-mail that ends with "FORWARD THIS TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS NOW !!!", or words to that effect, is an internet legend. It's amazing how long these things get passed around.

Larry i have not tried that, but i have done similar with boiled (cool) water, i mostly just sit over a bowl of boiling water and inhale for ten mins or so, with a towel over your head it clears everything up :)

9's and shot guns just P them Off! trust me on this, Been there done that! Gators skin is very tough! The cop should have waited for the trapper and just kept everyone back until he got there. Everyone thinks their Steveo, remember he got killed messing with a animal! Like I said, rule of thumb, "Leave the animal alone If they are bigger than you or can kill and eat you, they tend to get were their going on their own with out harm! Now If the animal is small friendly and is tasty .......wack it over the head and BBQ it, and let's eat!"

Beach update:
We're going if I buy the Family Breakfast @ The Cracked Egg, That's a Done Deal! If I get bitten by a shark today, "I Had It Comming!";-) LOL's

Mornin' Steve, Bill, and Chris!

Enjoy the day at the beach Chris. BTW, I would be a lot more afraid of the people than the sharks. In fact the sharks have a lot more to be afraid of hanging around those places than we do. It is said for every person that is killed by a shark, 1,000,000 sharks are killed by people. Personally I don't don't go and lay around on beaches 'cause there are always some well meaning folks around that try to drag me back in................ ;) :D Hope you have fun!

So far a nice sunny morning (After the clouds burned away early) here in the Finger Lakes. Currently 62°F which is supposed to be the high with some thunderboomers on tap for this afternoon.

I've been working little by little on the coaling tower, and of course, will have to do some modifications to get it to fit where I want it. It will be in the old part of the layout that I built way back when I knew everything and didn't bother to plan ahead........... It will work! (Or else!)

Good Morning Fellas ! Well our sunshine lasted a couple hours and now the reain is here for awhile . Along with cooled temperatures . Well a good day to stay inside and work on the railroad , have a few projects to do so don't mind a day inside much. Steve will check out the free magazine as soon as I get off here .Gotta go coffee up so hope everyone has a real nice Saturday . And hope all our Canadian members are having a real nice holiday weekend and spend lots of money over our side of the border !!!!!!!

Afternoon, fellow railroad nuts.

Paul, I already reported our friend from Portugal and gave him a friendly message about cross posting. I think he's probably just opened a new e-bay shop.

Chris, I would have stayed away from that gator too unless he was obviously attacking someone. We had animal control officers that I let handle problems with non-human animals. This guy must have watched Steve one too many times. :) Have a good day at the beach and wear your sunscreen.

Jeffrey, looks like we'll have about the same weather as you. It sure would be nice if stayed like this through the summer but June is coming.

Ray, I'm a scuba diver with about 200 dives under my belt, mostly in the tropics. With the exception of nurse sharks, which you have to provoke into biting you, the only sharks I've seen were rapidly swimming away from me. Even in Fiji, which has a LOT of sharks, I never got closer than 25 yards from
one before it took off. People wading or swimming in shallow water just offshore are actually the ones most at risk of a shark attack, which is still tiny compared to the amount of people at the beach everyday.

Steve, Railway Herald has real nice mix of articles. I wish I had something worthwhile to contribute. Sounds like flu bug is finally letting go.

Quiet in here today. I guess everyone is doing what I have to do - yard work! Have to get some pine straw and mulch all the flower beds. Get to go to a Montgomery Biscuits game tonight. Don't laugh, that's their real name. They are the Tampa Devil Rays farm club. We had back to back Southeast Conference championships in 2006 and 2007 but all those good players are now in the majors. They are in second to last place this year. Still a fun team to watch play. They shoot biscuits out of cannons into the crowd between innings. How can you not love a team that does something like that? :)

Jim glad you enjoyed the read, it's a great freebie.

just waiting to hear from my dad, his brother George is about to lose his leg through cancer, they cut half of his calf away plus some other bits last week but it's gone wrong so they are currently operating on him, poor guy had various other bits taken away about a year ago through cancer, he's having it tough

Hi guys, whatzup?

Been buried deep into the bowels of my basement the past couple of weeks, doing some model building, painting a couple of locos, (money:D, money:D), and finally decided to come upstairs and see what was happening outside my 4 walls. (Wow! Whats that bright thing?)

I finally started rebuilding my Akane H8 Allegheny. It dates from at least 1965, and the detail shows it. So far I've placed/replaced at least 15 different detail parts on the loco, and my question is, where'd they go? This loco is so big that I could probably instal another 50-60 parts and only then have them show up plainly.

Evening Guys!

You will never guess what I did this evening...... Nope not in a thousand years......

OK, I'll tell ya. I went and joined the Rochester (NY) chapter of the National Railway Historical Society. They own and operate the Rochester and Genesee Valley Railroad Museum in Industry, NY.

Great news Ray. I'm sure you'll have fun! I sure did in Mobile!

I'm Back!

I'm back from the beach! We had fun as alway's until...............some one started to screaming, "Beached Whale......Beached Whale...." next thing you know a group of people started rolling me back into the water! I know I'm fat but dang leave this fat white whale where you found him! on the lawn chair baking! and yes I wore sun screen 60 spf and still got a little baked on the back side!LOL's:) It was a nice day but that 30% chance of rain found me:mad:  .....it started to drizzle around 4:30ish then stop and sun came back out as we left the park:mad: go figure. The water temp was warmer this time around, it felt around upper 70's. low 80's nice temps for snorkeling with the boy! To bad there's no scalloping at that beach:mad: I could have filled up a couple of 5 gallon buckets! I tried but got nailed was told to release the scallops I had:mad: I told the lifeguard that they followed me! we got some neat stuff though for our fish tanks! got the boy a small starfish and purple sea urchin. Got some hermit crabs for my sump and plants for the tank! all-n-all had a great time snorkeling and lounging around, right now I would be enjoying those nice scallops for dinner if i didn't get caught! score one for the tree huggers! I will get my scallops...yes they will be mine!:D

I told you, "Your Tasty to a Gator!" I wonder if the gator used ketchup?

I've been out working at my parents place today. First, cut the grass. Second, help remove the pool cover. Third, get the pump/filter set up so the pool could be vacuumed. Fourth, help get rid of the vines and weeds that were taking over the fence and breeze wall. Lunch was at Burger King. I had a Steak House burger. Dinner was at Dairy Queen. I had a large Steak Finger basket with onion rings. That pretty much took up most of the day. I'm gonna sleep good tonight.
