candy factories of chicago

I'm doing some research into modeling a candy factory roughly based on the ones found in urban Chicago etc. the first question is the track leading to the candy factory would they have had stone ballast or cinder ballast? any additional info would be helpful

SAW BRACHS ONLY AND THEY HAD CINDER BALLAST TAN AND LIGHT MAROON. there were 2 tracks 1 outside along the front and 1 to the back on a spur.

yes it went into the building and by the way it took me a little longer to reply I do not go online too often.
