So I ordered a firecracker, and can style cab antennas for my BB GP-50 detailing/upgrades from TMR (amazing service btw) and I thought they screwed up on one of the parts, which looked nothing like the pic on their website. So I fired off an email with photos late afternoon (Friday) not really expecting a response for at least a few days. Surprisingly, they responded within about 30 mins. I sent them more photos and they said the part was correct. I said this looks like just a variation of a firecracker antenna, and we went back n forth with more photos and they mentioned the word sprue. After their third response, while I was in the middle of replying, it hit me like a ton of bricks, and I offered them an apology. Am I a rookie or what??? lol

Been there 😂

I don't think I would have told everyone about that on an open forum though.
I think I had the best laugh once I figured out my error. lol Makes sense why they wouldn't show the sprue in the part photo, or remove it, as it makes painting (and even finding these tiny pieces) a lot easier. Apparently in this hobby, the side mirror reads "Objects appear larger than they really are". ;)

I use the simplest means. All those fine details don’t matter to me. I’m in N scale and as long as I can see it, good enough for me. Don’t need the accurate metal walkway on my covered hoppers. My viewpoint is at least 3 feet away. At times I have a hard time seeing the car numbers and I don’t wear glasses yet.

If 3 feet was my threshold, I could just slap some wheels on a brick, with my poor eyesight. lol I admire N scalers as I would be likely to confuse a loco with my Bic lighter. 😁
