Welcome back Jim and am also glad to hear you are doing well. Don't over do anything though, we want you around for awhile yet :)

Thank you, Jim! All is well - just way too much work :) Finished my foam & aluminium baseboard and even put some rails on it but not much more. Igor

Okay, I didn't think we would hit the 400,000 mark this evening for sure congratulations to you all and thank you. Here is the Contest deal. It will be Thursday at NOON. No guns. I will have to have a full page to post both of the photos in one post so if you all could please hold of on to comments about the Contest we could use this page. 329. Of course legit questions about modeling are okay and I'll figure out a way from there. Tomorrow I will post my famous "how to lose this contest directions." So take Wednesday off and Thursday is Tree Day. Jim :o

We've had number of these Contests now and it never surprises me that those who want to win the most NEVER win. When I post the Rules tomorrow, whether by human nature, or by stupidity, few will read the Hints or How to Lose the Contest Part. They will blithely find the differences between the two photos and post their guesses. WRONG! What they will have forgotten is double and triple checking their guesses and then posting. It is simple, folks in the hurry to claim the prize post an answer and there is always a five or six correct answers that really need to be eight or nine or whatever. All you did in the time it takes me to check in is GIVE AWAY CORRECT ANSWERS TO YOUR COMPETITION! So way wrong as to be comic. Unfortunately there is a fine line between Comedy and Tragedy. What has happened in every Contest here is that this scenario is followed time after time. Basically unless you have studied the photo enough for a bit of time and checked once you will most probably lose. If you have checked 10 times with a 5 minute break in between you 'may' have a good chance. Otherwise history says you won't. To make the Contest more challenging, of course, I DO NOT tell you how many correct answers to find. This trips up all but the late guesser that has all the answers written down and maybe needs only one correct answer to find because you gave the rest to him. Of course, being an ex-teacher I have zero tolerance for those who can't seem to figure this out, but I never give up hope for you. So, please, if you want to WIN read everything tomorrow at NOON. Jim:o

CONTEST RULES: Contest for N or O scale trees commences at approximately 1200 PDT today. You will have two photos to compare. As a special treat these photos are taken of the layout room during deconstruction. Photo #1 is the basic look. IN PHOTO #2 YOU ARE TO FIND THE DIFFERENCES. DON'T GET MIXED UP AND COMPARE PHOTO #1 TO PHOTO #2 IN YOUR ANSWERS. You cannot win that way. Contest prize N or O trees will be awarded to the FIRST correct answer. Contest will run until 1200 PDT Saturday.

Hints: Try and be as clear and concise about your answers. Also, there are at least 5 correct answers and no more than 8 correct answers. This Contest should be easier than our last one. Good luck.

How to not win this Contest: Not checking many, many, times before posting your guess. Remember, everything you post is a hint to your competitors.
Not reading the rules. No leeway for excuses.

Please refrain from commenting during the Contest. ONLY ANSWERS PLEASE.

Ok, Ok, I'm modelling in TT scale so I will risk to answer as I'm not after the trees. Because my English is bad, I'm also attaching a picture (a copy of the second one) with discrepancies encircled in red.
- sheet of plywood with some foam (WS raiser?) near what seems to be a lightbox is rotated and displaced
- nails (or what is that?) before that plywood is moved to the right
- some tool (saw?) with orange handle near the left border is flipped
- red pen in the corner of the room is rotated
- dark piece of plastic (or is it paper?) in the center is displaced
- power cord leading to red jigsaw is displaced, as a result, peace of wood around which it is wrapped, is slightly displaced
- two pieces of wood near the bottom of the picture oand on top of the only piece of rails are moved to the left
- piece of wood in the center of the picture with nails in it - and to the right of tree holder) is slightly displaced (do not know if it counts or is a byproduct of other changes)

Igor, Incorrect answer, but I'm sure you've helped everyone else out! No worries. The N Scale trees would work for TT. They are pretty big. If you win you would have to pay shipping and such. If you aren't interested don't try to find all the differences. Leave the Contest to those who need the trees. Thanks, Jim:)

Okay. I studied the rules. I studied the photos. I took a break. I studied the photos again. I found 8 distinct, yet subtle, differences in the two photos. (Yes, it has been a slow day at work.) At the risk of allowing history to repeat itself and giving away answers to others in the case that I missed something (which I doubt as I found eight things that ARE different), here is what I found:

1.) Near the back corner of the room there is a red pen/marker lying on the floor. It appears to have been rotated roughly 30-40 degrees clockwise.
2.) On the middle left of the picture is what looks like the red handle of a pair of pliers (only one side of the pliers can be seen). These have been flipped over.
3.) Between the pliers and the pen is a small pile of screws. These have been moved to the left (and the pile is slightly more compact).
4.) In the middle of the picture is the red Jig saw. The white plug of the extension cord that it is plugged into has been moved to the right roughly six inches.
5.) Roughly to the 11 O'clock position of the pile of wood is a black triangle (screening, sand paper, not quite sure what it is) that has been rotated roughly 90 degrees counter clockwise and slightly away from the pile.
6.) Near the back corner of the room is what looks like a white light box. In front of that, is a board with a white thing on it (not sure if it is paper, plaster cloth or foam, but the whole board that it is sitting on (white thing included) has been rotated about 200 degrees clockwise.
6.5) There is a black thing on this board as well in the first photo that cannot be seen in the second.
7.) At the bottom of the photo is the dust buster with two boards sitting on the handle. In the second photo, these boards have been moved off of the dust buster.
8.) Now, this one is really tricky. If you look at the first photo and find the red pen mentioned in #1, and you follow the line of the pen to the wood pile, you will cross a small smudge on the floor. Lint, deconstruction debris... not quite sure. If you look at the second photo, this thing is lying parallel in line with the top and bottom borders of the photo. In the first photo it sits at an angle to that parallel line. As far as I can tell, the camera is in the same position in both photos and nothing else has changed it's perspective, thus it is a change. Small, subtle, but a difference.

How'd I do?

Ok, one more attempt:
- window is different, looks like you have slided blinds.

Igor

Winner, winner, chicken dinner. First correct answer belongs to Igor. Congratulations. If Igor does not want the trees maybe we can have a drawing or something. Igor, contact me via PM please. Jim:D

KB02, Sorry, you almost had the answer. In previous contests I've mentioned that camera angles and lighting have no part in the Contest other than being a distraction. Luckly this time photos where taken just a couple of minutes apart and both are the same. When you look at the window you may want to kick yourself. Jim :)
