I know it's the way you roll, Jim. But is sure seems a shame after all that work. It was a magnificent layout. But on the other hand, am looking forward to the next installment. Bill
Thanks Bill. Hopefully the next and last layout will turn out as I hope it will. I'll be heartbroken if it does not! First though, I have to take this room totally apart. I will pile up the benchwork and use what I can later. The backdrops come down and holes in the walls filled and the room painted. I'm thinking of a Sept/Oct start for the next one. Jim
I thought about sharing my technique on getting glued track off the layout. Of course this is a technique for track destined for the garbage. By using this tool it is very easy to get the track up. If you have to save your track then take a long Exacto blade and cut through the glue. I'm assuming you will want to save the roadbend. If you use foam and not cork you will probably have to get rid of it all like in this photo. Jim
I had a pleasant discovering yesterday. I was dreading taking off the Scultamold fascia. First, I hit it with a hammer and piece broke off quite easily. I grabbed an edge and pulled and the Scultamold fascia broke off in easy to handle pieces. Best of this discovery is that virtually NO dust or particles hit the floor. This would not be possible using tradition plastercloth. Jim
NOTE TO SELF: The next time I build another layout in order to tear it down within a few months of completing; remember to use Sculptmold on the fascia for ease of demolition.
