Thanks Lynn, While I don't 'play' the publishing game this is my fifth magazine featuring one of my layouts. I didn't submit anything in N or HO scales so there is a few years between mags. This one like the others was a result of the publisher contacting me, not the other way around. So I'm quite proud of this mag for sure. Jim
KB, Yes, it is a nice complement. However the first four layout articles were for a Ztrack magazine which was starting up at the same time I entered the hobby. To help out I submitted a new layout every year. This, my normal impatience, and will to improve my scenery skills, are probably the reasons why I'm always building a new layout. Time to stop now. I'm nearly out of fuel. Jim
Interesting conversation on another site about 3M Super 77 and Aqua Net hair spray as adhesives. So I will pass this on here.
If you are modeling HO, N, or Z scales, for the most part Woodland Scenics ground foams are used for trees. The ground foams are attached to the trees my spraying Aqua Net super hold hairspray between shaking or rolling your tree in the ground foams. In this photo:
Look at the bushes. They are decorated using WS ground foams and hairspray. The foams are small and adhere quite well in this usage, bushes. In O scale I have use a stronger adhesive 3M Super 77 spray glue for attaching leaves to the sage brush tree. The leaf product is from Scenic Express and requires a stickier glue for adhesion. Of course small stalks of sage brush can be used in HO scale for trees with the Scenic Express leaf material, but you will still need the 3M glue. Jim
It is an old kit, maybe from the 70/80's. It is On30 and back then very few RTR items were available. Congrats to this long gone creator. I shortened it a bit to fit the space. Jim
Love the pic. you take Great pictures. And your detailed work is awesome. And are you logging off each time you exit the site? or maybe not having the remember me button checked.
Bushel, I've done all that. Still have to login each time. I think the issue is with my computer not this site, as I have to login on a number of sites I didn't use to have to. Jim
Yea i was just messing with ya. if you have cleared your history on your computer recently you might of uncheck/check something that could of caused the problem. If its doing that then most likely it is in your toolbar. check your settings on your tool bar, and see if somthing might of got clicked by accident./ or if your installed something that added a toolbar browser, it could also affect it... there is a lot of things that can cause it.
Jim , what are you using mostly for all your foliage , bushes , grasses and such? That shrubbery in the foreground does not look like any I have seen before. Thanks.
Jim, Maybe you have seen this foliage before. I've used it quite often. It is a plant from across the street from me. Look close you may have it in SW Colorado. Jim
