That is very sad! We need to be in prayer for his family.
I'm sure this was a typo from the news article:
"Hope police say it appears Lollis simply tied to beat the train at a crossing at U.S. 67 and Generator Street."
When you and the train tie at a crossing, the train always wins.
Perhaps in some way this tragedy can be used to teach others not to race the train.

At 17, he should know better. It's a shame, and i feel bad for his family. But he put all the people on that trains lives at risk, not to mention traumatizing the crew for life. If a big metal thing with flashing lights, a horn and bell that can be heard for miles, protected by flashing lights, bells, and a reflectorized gate isn't enough to stop you, then there's no hope for you. I'm just glad no one else seemed to be hurt, the train didn't derail, and i hope the crew can cope because that's something that can ruin your life if you let it

Very sad indeed, My real estate agent's 17 year old son stood in front of a BNSF freight train a few years ago by his high school.
