I am hoping that there are other Uk based chaps here who can suggest what power source I can use to power Kato turnouts. I am not planning to use the Kato DC controller and so I'll need to be able to power them as I wish to use the throw switches supplied rather than mess about with digital switching.

Mark, why not get the Kato controller with the 240v adapter, and use that for throwing the turnouts? You don't have to connect it to the track.
