Unless that particular car has some sentimental value to you, you’re better off just buying another one. They haven’t been made in probably 30 years or more in that configuration.

Would an Athearn 4 bay hopper subframe work or Accurail?

You might want to try to just using a Medium thick super glue to put it back together. Should work.
