I was thinking of buying a Bachmann Spectrum HO 0-6-0 Saddle Tank Loco and was wondering if anyone has purchased one. Last tank engine I had, 0-4-0 did the hula as it traveled in a straight line. I did the shimmy all the way down the track. Do these newer 0-6-0 track better than the old Tyco's?...Also do they stall at turnouts and crossings
I had one. They are much better than the older stuff.
I was able to install a decoder in it, but if you use dcc, I’d look for one that already has a decoder.

The two 4-4-0's I had suffered from the front trucks derailing on anything other than straight track or 36" curves. The trucks were too light to stay on the track. They may have fixed that, but it's something to keep in mind.
I do have two 4-6-0 and yes, the front trucks on mine are a little on the light side and they do derail (not much; but a nuisance). I might try that 0-6-0
I have one. Wally's Model Railroading u-tube channel has a very detailed DC to DCC conversion. The locomotive was gifted to me but to be honest here if you can find one that is already DCC & sound the additional money is worth avoiding the aggravation.
