Kadee #5 or Kadee #148 will fit right into the coupler mount on that frame and use the original Athearn snap on coupler cover. One thing to be aware of is if you run 2 of the older Athearn engines coupled back to back the Kadees are metal and will conduct electricity thereby creating a short. In that case you need to use the plastic draft gear box that comes with the Kadees to insulate the couplers from the frame. To get the correct height you will also have to file the frame mount for the coupler down so it is flat and smooth and then drill and tap for a 2-56 screw to hold the Kadee box on the frame. Some Athearns have a plastic coupler cover and you can use an insulated ( plastic ) shoulder bushing on the coupler shank with the shoulder side against the metal frame thereby insulating the metal coupler. Walthers used to have the bushings and I think Kadee does too.
