I know most of you guys are using alternant couplers but for those of us old school types...
The newer Athearn 90602 metal coupler covers do not fit older cars or engines. The side holes are too big and the cover just flops around and the horn and hook couplers jam or pop out. Just a public service notice so you don't get burned. I am going to contact Athearn about this problem but I think they are aware of it.
What I've done for years isre-bend them myself. Problem is new or worn tooling.
The problem is not so much the bend as it is the side slot holes are just too big. They are both too wide and too tall. I thought about trying a touch of solder but I don't want to melt the coupler.
When I can't find suitable parts for older couplers boxes I file them off and screw on a Kadee box. It's an easy fix.

Get an A Line "Bulls Eye Drill Jig". It allows you to drill a hole for a 2-56 screw to hold the coupler cover on permanently. Problem solved! Do a Google search for that jig & you'll see instructions on how to do it & where to buy it if your LHS doesn't carry it..
