Hello! New member here!
I have recently gotten back into model railroading after a 10 year hiatus. I model in N-Scale. I started out in N-Scale in the late 1980’s and almost immediately got involved with the ARNOLD / MÄRKLIN early command control system (I still have much of it). As DCC became prevalent I moved on to a LENZ system. I am currently using a MÄRKLIN CS2 and a Mobile Station to run my trains in DCC. Most of my locomotives are DCC but there is one that is not, that

I’d like to add a decoder to, but I do not have a parts diagram for it. I’m a bit confused as to its configuration and assembly. It’s an ATHEARN 10905 2-8-0 D&RGW #1. It appears that the motor is in the tender and drives the driven wheels in the locomotive via a drive shaft.

Any help with providing a parts breakdown (which I have been unable to locate) or any other thoughts on what I’m attempting here, would be appreciated. Thanx in advance!
