any info on a John Bull and Dewitt Clinton original not re-release's

Both were aquired as complete sets never ran, box's and track's gone engine and cars only, but are kept in display case. Any info as far as value and maybe dates would be greatly appreciated.
 
Value, I'm not sure, but I doubt they're collector's items yet. I don't think they can be much more then 10 years old, but I cannot remember the release dates on them.

Very nice sets might I add, I would not mind picking them up. Just been to lazy to bid on them on eBay. I've seen new sets sell for at little as $25...
 
I'm assuming these were the original Bachman releases. If so, they went on the market in 1998. As collectibles, having the original box and all the accesories like track is really important. These haven't reached the collectible stage, especially since they are being re-released. Given that you only have the engine and cars, they will be nice display pieces but they are unlikely to ever have much value to collectors.
