Looks like there is going to be a big hollywood style Runaway train movie coming out in late 2010. Some seem to be saying November 2010. The movie is going to be called "Unstoppable" and will star Denzel Washington.

Notice the locomotive and all the frieght cars have exclusive names and the reporting marks even reflect that. I have never heard of Trans Grain before so ill bet everything was custom painted or lettered and carefully done so the natural weathering still shows without looking like the paint is fresh. May turn out to be a good movie. People have been making videos of production and posting them all over youtube. One video with Denzel himself sitting on top of one of those "Prixton" tank cars.

Now, the challenge is. Who will be the first to custom paint the 3 AWVR locomotives? None of them look too overly complicated at all. The red unit #777 looks to be the easiest project.

There's a lot of pictures on RailPictures.net showing all of the engines & the engines w/sections cut out for the camera crews.
 


Another "train faw-down-and-go-boom" picture, eh? I kinda resent hollywood using trains as little more than action/explosion movie fodder or quaint time setters in period movies. Here's wishing for another 20th Century, Silver Streak or North By Northwest....

Well there's a great job for someone, weathering 1/1 trains.

They have been showing the trailer on TV now. It's out next month 11/12.

Can't wait to see it. Denzel should be pretty good, he's one of my favorite actors.
 
All I know is that there are very little CG graphics used. And Denzel apparanlty does most of his stunts.

I'm watching Jay Leno right now and Denzel is on there promoting the movie.
