Grandson of an ALCO Builder
So here is an old D&H hopper that was saved from being scrapped. A person known to me had bought it from the scrap yard for $1 dollar to save it for history sake. Pretty cool! Currenty it is in West Springield, MA I will not disclose the exact location. This will end up being restored for static display and will be relocated to Salem NY somewhere in future.

That is a RARE piece, especially being with lowered sides. Recently in past few months antracite carriers really sparked my interest, Delaware and Hudson being one of them and having some of the wildest steam locomotive designs. I've seen pictures of hopper trains with lowered hoppers like that in the consist, but this is the first one i saw still in existance.
 
It will be interesting to see how the restoration, when they can finally do it, this car will look.
