yep, i have that feeling that when discussing model railroad, cats can not be off-topic, lol

it is one happy cat Steve. that, or he has something terrible on his mind :)

he is a happy cat, a loving cat, but a sinister cat. He tricks you. Purrs, lets you pet him, he rubs up on you, then.............He clamps down on your hand with his razor fangs and tries to wrestle you hand/arm til death. And then he pulls the "i love you" look and tricks you all over again. LOL.

that menards that closed, wouldn't happen to be the one in hanover park would it? got a couple of good deals when that one moved. and as for cats, i made the mistake of setting up some of that cheap bachman snap together with the plastic roadbed around the christmas tree, and ran my brand new metra set around it a couple years ago. came out later and one of the little brats had knocked the cab car off the track, broken the snowplow and horn off, knocked the other car and the motor off which broke the pilot and plow off the engine, and piddled on the track, which rusted it almost overnight. THAT'S an evil cat! And why i am planning on building my layout in the garage... as for those tankers, those are pretty cool. all black tank cars are boring! must have been used strictly within a specific areathough, moving fuel, oil, etc... the UP does something similiar, with really old tank cars they dump used oil into and ship off to a recycler. (if anyone has been to the west end of the M19 diesel ramp they probably spotted a couple that we were told held used oil)

ahh cats and trains...purrfect together.
Here's our massive long haired evil ginger, morris.

OK dad now you took my picture so when you least expect it I'm gonna knock your trains of the shelf so I can stretch. lol:D

Cute kitties Anton and Steve. My girlfriend has 3 cats, 2 dogs (bull terriers aka the Target Dogs, a bunny, and 8 birds (3 BIG birds and 5 small birds). Its quite the zoo over there, but its always fun to be at her house, i practically live there LOL.

Her cat, Casey, which is the biggest of them all, weighs 24 pounds! Hes a huge cat, and quite the cuddled. Then her sisters cat, Eli, weights 12 pounds, half Casey's weight. And her Parents cat, Charlie weighs 6 pounds, half Eli's weight which is pretty weird! Charlie is supper skinny, and the vet thinks she might have an eating disorder. Its weird, cuz she's a pig and always eats all her food, and then proceeds to finish the other 2 cats food after they have left it LOL.

hey Trouble (oh wow, what a nick :) )
no, i live in northern part of 'burbia, so the one i was talking about was in Palatine, yeah, what they can they move, rest is on fire sale. that was quite some time ago.

wife never had pets in her life (lets just say i hope to be much better parent that her folk are) so the idea of cat or anything other then fish living in the house was unheard of. Dad found 3.5 kittens near his garbage (half being litteraly half. opossum probably had himself a lunch.) and took them in. It took massive support of wifes best friend to convince her, one evening after numerous conversations about how cats are awesome, she just showed up with new litter pan, nail clippers, basically full blown cat welcoming kit + a certificate for first vet visit. "hi, i heard you taking a kitten, that's great! here is some stuff you'll need", "we're not taking a cat!", "Oh YES YOU ARE!!!" LOL...

I wanted to take 2 kittens atually but even that one was way to much for her in the beginning. me and her friend tried to push the idea that these come as a set, but at least i got to keep my marriage. we would have called them Ying and Yang! lool

one of the craziest thing was the reaction of their own cat to those little things.

He has come very very close to doing so. He moved them out of his way so he could lay up there. My other 2 cats have knocked apart my atlas bridge display so they can lay up there too.

steve his eyes look angry in that pic, like hes thinking to him self why in the hell is this person taken my pic lol
He always looks like that, even when he's sleeping. LOL

BARK BARK BARRK BARRROOO!!!!!!

(sorry, I'm a dog person... :) ) the pups are real good with trains, and are even welcome in the "local" hobby shop in Wilson, NC.

one time, jsut to see what they would do, I took a cheap locomotive, and set some flextrack on the floor. The little beagle ran off the instant the loco moved. Tanker stood back and barked. Pumper would charge the train as it was moving away, and jump (literally!) backwards when I changed direction. Good, clean, fun... (and QUITE hilarious!!)
part of the "lesson" was to teach them not to mess with the trains. Swift discipline would have been delivered had they decided it was a chew toy, (hence the cheap, disposable, old POS locomotive) but they were curious, but behaved.
