I am planning a ew 5x10 lyout in my aunt's spare bedroom ( 3 bedroom flat 2 people)
It's track is gong to be all bachmann E-Z track.
it will be as mentioned above a 5x10 layout with possibly a 1x1 extension for siding.
It will be started ( or atleast the baseboard contruction will be started) in summer vacation and i should have a reasonble amount of track till september - october.
It will have 1 town and 2 industry (one in the 1x1 extension if possible.)
and will have atleast 1 tunnel and atleast 1 brdge and a station with 2 platform.
1st off it sounds like you don't own the space or are not the leaseholder/renter. So with that in mind: Plan if/when you'd ever have to dissemble and move or store the layout away.
2ndly, I have a 5x10 under construction in an otherwise very wide open section of my full basement. I'd hate to try to cram one into a bedroom size area as they take up a tremendous amount of space (layout + walk around area). Instead, why don't you look into making it a series of smaller modular sections that could be linked together and go around the walls? You will retain more useable space in the room for other purposes and this will also go a long way towards solving the "relocatable" issue.
Well, if i make it going around the walls, then there is the issue of the 2 doors (one leading into the room and one leading into the balcony).
So I have stuck with the table layout. There bedroom is VERY large, You could fit 2 beds end to end. Plus this is a very cloose relatives house, and my grandpa and my aunt dont have any problem - they said i could take the entire room (provided i leave the doorways open). Plus there is a kind of indentation - the wall is to the inside. So there is plenty of space to walk around. on all sides. Only thing is that he middle half fert are not accesable to me but i dont think that is a problem because there is not going to be any tracks there anyway, just scenery.
