On this walthers... HO... Union Crane and shovel building, it has slots/grooves running down the center where the train track would meet the garage door.
Has anyone ever put rails down those slots/grooves so that a locomotive engine could actually drive into the building?
Yes. I take a piece of flex track and remove all the ties from the rail that will be inside the building. Place the flextrack piece through the building. The areas that still has the ties will be on outside of you building.Then I glue the rail in those grooves. Use a track gauge to ensure proper rail spacing.
