I just got an e-mail from Reel Rides with their newsletter announcing that the BTTF Delorean is finally out at Walmart. Problem is, it is only available in 1:64 scale, not 1:87. Can you believe it!
Doc
My local WM didn't have any Reel Rides that I found. They had 4 Hot Wheels 1:87, 2 Porsches and 2 GT40 concepts, and a few NASCAR 1:87. And the same old 1:87 Porsches and Jaguars. The Hot Wheels look bogus to me.
I did buy the only Kasey Kahne #9 there..I had to have a Dodge at the race shop.

while the nascars are nice, i dont really have any use for them on a simple 4X8. I still may pick up a couple just for kicks. I was also not very impressed with the hotwheels cars... however, they did have a mustang GT once that was really nice. riverdale station has some real nice modern domestics, including an F150 NS work truck. but for 13.00 a pop, ill have to wait on those. but all the walmarts in this vicinity have pretty much the same ones you mentioned. truth is i need to work more on getting my ground cover down and aquiring more structures. I already have plenty of cars.
UP2CSX - what reigon are you in...I can only hope that you are in the south and maybe they will show up around here before long.
Airslide, just like it shows in my location - Prattville, Alabama. I guess that means there's hope. What I've done is talk to the toy department manager and ask when they get new shipments of 1:87 vehicles like Reel Rides and Fresh Cherries. During the non-holiday season, it's about once every three weeks at my WM, usually on a Wednesday. I make it a point to stop by every three weeks or so on a Thursday. Sometimes you find new stock, no stock, or a bunch of marked down old stock. Right after Christmas, they had obviously way overordered and had all the Fresh Cherries on clearance at 50 cents each! I got 42 of them that day.
The '72 Chevy Pickup shows up pretty often here. I've got five of them now, some that I've repainted so I don't have nothing but black pickups running around town. Try talking to person in charge of toys and see what information you can get. They may even add more diecast cars if you express interest in cleaning them out. It's still kind of a treasure hunt, though, so just keep on looking and most of what you want will eventually show up.
riverdale station is a hobby shop rotor and i are familiar with in south metro atlanta. thanks for the reference though. they have some good stuff. will bookmark.
duh on the location UP2CSX..dunno how i missed that. I will try talking to the toy manager at my local wally world. thanks
