1/87th Vehicles

ModelRailroadForums.com is a free Model Railroad Discussion Forum and photo gallery. We cover all scales and sizes of model railroads. I find it pretty interesting that most of the places I looked online they don't even stock ANY 1/87th scale NASCAR die cast...

Scott

For the average NASCAR and/or die cast collector, 1:87 scale is pretty small. If you're buying it to display, you want to be able to see it without glasses

I use my Nascar vehicles on my layout for Grand Openings of car lots & new skyscrapers. I even made up a stockcar track, but never used it because I didn't want to stock the bleachers w/a thousand Preiser people that I would have to paint.

Anyone see the new vehicle releases from Athearn?

Yeah saw those loaders, very nice. I'll have to check eBay for the nascar cars. That seller linked had and 8 pack with the Army, Navy, Marines, & Air Force cars. I hope I can get most of the cars ever released.

EDIT Moreno Valley CA Wal*mart had all the fresh cherries so I have all 10 now. :D

hey guys: If anyone is interested Wal-Mart is carrying the Nascar 9 packs and the individual cars as well in a center aisle merchandiser . The 9 packs sell for $23.97. Bryan

I was more into collecting enough cars that I could either make a piece of a race track or put them on display somewhere on the layout or something of that nature.

I went by the old reliable Walmart near my house (of the six "local" Walmarts, it's the one that always has the HO scale goodies) this weekend and no new models.

Thanks for the heads-up, atlas7736!

I've been able to track down the 9 packs near me, but the Mercury Bobcat (Fresh Cherries) is nowhere to be found. That's the one I'd really like to find.

Ryan, I'm doubting the Bobcat, I found an untouched box of the Fresh Cherries in the Moreno Valley Wal*mart (the stock person had literally just put it there as I walked up), and it did not have one in it.

How many do you need??? Our Walmart had them the other day when I was in there.

Scott, I'd love one of each color of the bobcats myself, as I said, I raided a new box and found none.

Same here. I plan on purchasing one of each when they finally show up. PM me if you'd like to work something out, Scott.
