I bought a couple of the 1/87 Lamborginis (sp?) from Walmart and am working on kitbashing it to do the same thing. The axle width sems perfect for HO. Now I just gotta scrape up some scrap N scale wheels.

I think they stopped ordering now that the holidays are over... The ONLY thing I've seen new were the Matchbox CXT's at another Wal*mart.

Just returned from Wally World

I just returned from Wally World with my son and the clearance section is stilled stocked with the Ford and Dodge vans, they also have lots of the BigFoot trucks too. I bought four of them for a $1.00 each and brought them home and matched them up to the rest of the 1/87th cars I bought and they seem to be the correct size. The BigFoot trucks don't list what scale they are.

Hey Jeffrey watch out for the pinto don't want to get reared ended !!!
Yeah, I hear ya! Actually, the wagon wasn't the one that had the rear-end explosion problem. That distinct honor belonged to the hatchback. Had the Pinto been built the way it was originally designed, with airbags and bladders in the gas tank plus a few other items, it would have been the safest car in the world, instead, Ford got in a hurry and cut corners and it became the deadliest car in the world. A blot on Ford's record to this day.

My Wal-mart here in town only got 1 box of Fresh Cherries cars that they put out. I got lucky, and snagged up on a Pacer, and a Pinto wagon. The Gremlins were gone by the time I found the Cherries.

Lately, I've been stocking up on the semi trucks. I like those a lot, but wish they were more decorated than just a single color!!! I guess I'll just have to buy decals for them.

I'm also ready for the Malibu line of cars to come out with new makes and models. I'd love to see them make a 1978 Trans Am, and a 1979 Camaro Z28. (IMHO, The two BEST cars of the late '70s)

The other day I was at Wally World and for the first time I saw that they even had a Gremlin and there was only one so I grabbed it up!

The thread that never dies keeps on rolling along. Anyways, latest update from my local Wally World is that all the Fresh Cherries and the vans are gone. There were the new Malibu models in stock, which include a Porche Boxster, Porsche 911 Carrera, Jaguar XK, 1937 VW 30, 1953 Cadillac Eldorado, Land Rover Discovery, Range Rover Sport. I just wish that the new models came in more than one paint scheme.

I just counted that I've bought 55 or the $2 vehicles from Wally World. That ought fill a parking lot!
Oh wow! I thought I had allot. But then, I have freeways to fill... Not saying that our Socal freeways are not much more then parking lots anyways!

The two local Wally Worlds here quit carrying anything new in 1/87.
Same old cars in 5-packs and cars w/trailers.
I found a few vans and a lot of John Deere tractors in the clearance isle.
Tractors were marked down to a $1.00!!
I bought them all!! :D

..............Now that I think of it, Wally World is carrying a Sherman tank in what appears to be 1/87.
It's made by "Corgi" and it's die cast.
I grabbed one of them too.:p

here are some pics of some new HO vehicles I got yesterday.

First one up is the new Mini Metals 59 Ford Fairlane.Don't know where they got the Fairlane name from because this ain't one. but it is a 59 Ford and a very nice one to boot.(At $12.00 a copy it should be)I still like it and have the N scale version on order too.

Both of these beauties have nicely detailed under carridges and the truck is assembled with screws.I bought two of the trucks and am thinking of making the second one a flatbed.(the trucks are only $4.00 each :) )

Got the truck from a local hobbyshop. It's a limited edition,1 of 5,000 made.:)

Has anyone seen the new Matchbox farm tractors at Wally World. They look just like a JD, but are red?

Larry:cool:

I didn't know Johnny Lightning made HO anything........
Where did you find the truck?

I think they're more like 1:92, but heck, if you don't tell, I won't  I believe there are three or four different trucks in the "True Grit" series that are all very close to HO.

I bought a bunch of Mt. Dew beverage trucks made by JL

I also have a Hershey's Chocolate truck from the same series I bought at Chocolate World several years ago.

I hardly ever go through the toy aisle at Walmart, until I read this thread!! Picked up one of the Malibu Range Rover Discoveries yesterday for $1.99.

I haven't seen anything new for a long time. No fresh cherries, just the 1:72 versions. :( I did pick up that Range Rover & El Dorado but those were the last.
