Matchbox tanker

I'm going to check my WM or Target for the truck and maybe swap the tank and use it for a waste oil truck or something else depending on how close to 1/87:D

I was about to tell you there's a seller on eBay from the Netherlands that has them for $9.99, but it looks like you already found them
Yeah, thats how I discovered them!

He's got the two I'm bidding on, and a 3rd one that I'll tack on to my eBay items (if I win them). WOHO! New trucks!

YEAaaa, Finally got some Hotwheels 1/87th cars. Really nice. Got the Purple Passion(51 merc. custom), 05' Ford Mustang GT(white), Porsche Cayman(silver), VW Beetle w/wide mag wheels, Bone Shaker(29 Ford roadster-black),
Ford Shelby GR-1 Concept (white stripe up the middle over dark red).
I bought 2 of the Merc.'s & there were some convertibles of other veh.'s, but I didn't want anymore convertibles.
BTW, Right next to the New Cheeries cars were some 1/84th vehicles that have diff. kinds of cars than the 1/87th. Don't get them by mistake.
Where did you-all get the Bobcats(tractor)? Were they in w/the New Cheeries?

Larry:D

Man, I'm still on the hunt for those 1/87 Hot Wheels. A bobcat in 1/87 plug me in too where to get one. My local stores are all out ie.(Toys R Us, WM,Target, Albertsons) and so on are out:mad: Unless they are there when I'm not there Could be?

WHOO-HOO, JBAAKKO!!!!!

Thanks much for providing the links to the DelPrado fire trucks!!! I can now finish my fire dept!!!! There is only 4 in H.O. scale, but they are NICE!!! They are better than Boley, but the same price!!!! I'm going to order the two trucks I need. They are:

1. A 1993 Pierce Lance Bronto ( a tower ladder truck)
2. A 2003 E-One HP100 rear mount ladder truck.

The other two that I'm not ordering are these:

3. A 2005 E-One HP75 rear mount ladder.
4. A 2005 Pierce Quint ladder.

Awesome trucks, again, Thanks for the link!!!

Again, are U talking about the Bobcat cars or the Bobcat tractor?

Larry:rolleyes:
Em, I guess I missed something, Mercury Bobcat, BUT I have a GHQ Bobcat Skid Steer...

The '93 Pierce Bronto is a bucket truck, not a ladder, but yeah.

Add these too, they're close enough:
2002 Pierce Heavy Rescue: Las Vegas FD (1:80)
2006 Quantum Pierce pumper: Miami F.D. (Which I'm told actually scales to 1:87)
2000 Dragon Airport Crash Truck (should be 1:85 from what I've seen)
2003 Nikki - Sky Action Ladder: TOKYO (should also be 1:85)
2001 Camiva VIM60 ARFF (1:80)
2005 Life Flight EuroCopter (1:90)

I'm looking at the 4 you mentioned, plus the heavy rescue, and the pumper. Plus the Boley Peirce (the one they did in FDNY paint), and, well...

Does it have a scale on it?

Josh,

There is no scale listed on the package, but I have seen the matchbox
International Armored Car listed as being 1/81 scale.
I have both vehicles mentioned and when placed side by side, they're the same.
I'll try and post a pic of the comparison later.
Either way, you can't beat em for under a buck......:D

trucks side by side......

Hey Josh,

Here's a pic of the two trucks side by side........

As you can see, tit for tat, they are really close to each other in size.
With a little bit of paint on the lights and weathering, these trucks should look just fine.

what you can do with a 99 cent truck....

I know I showed this one some time ago, but here's an example of what can be done with a cheapo matchbox truck or some kind of equivalent:

Started off as a box truck.
I removed the box and added a wooden deck.
Found a matchbox highway plow truck and glued the plow frame onto this truck.
Painted the lights and so forth and then weathered it.
Plow is removeable for summer driving......:)
Total cost is around two bucks.
Looking at it from the side, I just realized I should add a drive shaft and some type of headboard behind the cab........

Em, I guess I missed something, Mercury Bobcat, BUT I have a GHQ Bobcat Skid Steer...

The GHQ Bobcat Skid Steer is what I was talk'in about. Where did you get that? are those the one's U repainted?

Larry
I got mine off of eBay, but GHQ has them on sale on their website.
$10

Nice. Usually Matchbox had the scale on the underside, but if its a Hot Wheels mold then it won't.

So you're saying that one of those is a 1/81st scale vehicle and the other is a 1/87th scale? I don't think that they are that much of a difference if any!

Scott

Wonders never cease!

I was in Wally World today and they finally got in the Reel Rides! I picked up the following:
'58 Porsche Speedster
'67 Plymouth GTX Convertible
'70 Pontiac GTO
'72 Chevrolet C-10 Pick-up
'77 Pontiac Firebird

Still nothing new to report up here regarding the new Hot Wheel 1/87 cars. But They were in the middle of revamping the whole store and putting out the new "mods" for the store. They had pallets of new stuff all over the store so I'm assuming that in one of of those pallets filled with the new toys was the new stuff!!!

Scott

No, I'm saying that both trucks are 1/81 scale and for under a buck, they are good enough for my layout.:p :p

I use a ton of Matchbox & Hotwheels trucks on my layout. Remember the Stake Body trucks? There was about 5 diff. colors & I have them all.
I also have a bunch of the U-haul tractor trailers that WM sold about 10 years ago. They have all the diff. States logo's on the trailers. At one time I got a bunch of furniture van semi's, but, they were a little bit smaller than HO, but sitting in front of a furniture they look good.
I wonder when WM is going to start selling tractor trailers again. I don't need any, but I'm sure the rest of you could use some.
They haven't sold any airplanes that match HO either for about 2 years.
That's the only thing I hate about WM is, they run out of a good selling item & U never see it again. I've been trying to get the big dump truck that WM sells in Norscott, but now after they sell all of the overstock of what's left now, there won't be anymore of that. I'm waiting for the price to go below $5.00 before I buy out what's left in my store of the Cat. stuff.
I was in Toys-R-Us yesterday & they didn't have any of the vehicles that WM has. I even asked & the Mgr. said she didn't know what I was talking about. They must never go to WM for price comparisson.

Larry

Okay, I misunderstood what you were trying to say then. I thought you said each one was of a different scale and you were comparing them. But considering they are 1/81, they don't don't look much different then 1/87th scale.

When I was in Walmart today, I confirmed they no longer stock the Norscott Cat stuff anymore. I'm glad I got what they had when they had it as you are right, once it's gone, they done bring it back.

The search continues

I was in a WM today a new supercenter for us in CA and they had no 1/87 Hot Wheels and no more CAT products. The dept. manager was redoing the mods and told me the clearance cars were in the basket. Unfortunately there were no CAT,malibu, or fresh cherries in 1/87:mad: Alot of 1/64 and about 1/32 and 1/24 not sure on the correct scale :o Just like other posts before she did not know what I was talking about. I looked on the mod sheet and I didn't see them on the sheet:( My quest still continues for the 1/87 Hot Wheels;)
