    I haven't put a gauge on my pancake, but based on similarly designed units I've worked with, I'd be surprised if it got beyond 20. I've had a better one in my cart for a while now, but since I've switched to largely spraying Tamiya I haven't been annoyed enough to pull the trigger.

    I've only been at this about 18 months now but: Tamiya will make you look like a hero. Water based stuff will make you tear your hair out. I'm still learning something every time I spray, there's a lot of tribal knowledge you'll build up specific to your setup.

    Speed matched these 2 last night. Well, the best I could anyway on 3 ft of track. I soldered the decoders to the chassis so hopefully between that and about 15 min of back and forth on the siding, they'll be happy enough to run on the club layout tomorrow.

    I love powder and use it everywhere. I'd dust any locomotive trucks with a darker rust powder at minimum. It adds sooooo much texture and will bring out details.

    Depends on the car. Anything high set (hoppers, tanks) gets some grimy blacks underneath and then a dusting of earths as you move up the sides. Box cars I usually just do earths. Prototype pictures are best as always.
