How do you fill in the grooves for traction tires if you don't want them any more?

As per the thread title, I'd like to know how you can fill in the grooves because I don't want the traction tires on the below engine any more, so it will ride more level without them. I don't want to derail the pilot truck or front drivers because it's riding nose high. The tires that were on...

    Ballasting you layout...thoughts?

I need to ballast a number of areas on my layout, but I'm still trying to work the bugs out of a few sections, and the others I'm considering some possible changes.

    Human Verification

I saw that when I brought the site up today, I kind of figured that was the purpose of it. So far, (knock on wood) the site seems to be running quite well for me.

It was really bad yesterday, (8/1/26) I couldn't get it up at all.

    Painting metal wheel faces

I just use the inexpensive Apple Barrel acrylic craft paint from Walmart painted directly to the wheels, and I've never had any issues with it. Maybe it depends on how the various brands formulate their paints. These are a few examples.

Motor squeal and slowing on brass 4-4-0

That's what I'm thinking too. I was running it yesterday, and it seems to be ok now. It even seems to be a little faster now.

Motor squeal and slowing on brass 4-4-0

I'm so sorry I'm so late getting back to you. I got caught up in trying to get my house painted and completely forgot about this thread. It's a Sagami can motor. I'm hoping that I got it fixed, after doing some probing on the net, I took a look at it under a powerful magnifier and it...

Motor squeal and slowing on brass 4-4-0

After reading you reply, I tried that, and the problem is still persisting. I should also note, that testing it while holding it between my thumb and finger I'm feeling moderate to heavy vibration. Is there anything else that could be causing it?

Motor squeal and slowing on brass 4-4-0

I have a bit of a conundrum on my hands. I've had this brass 4-4-0 for several years, and it has an off and on problem with the motor squealing and slowing down, and it seems to be getting worse as of late. It doesn't matter what direction the engine is moving in, and everything has been...

I tried to get on today, 7/12/26, at 12:22 PM (Mountain Standard Time), and I kept getting something like "database error, please try again". Too bad there isn't a way to block these bots and the like.

    Tank locomotive pulls impressive load

That's a great find! I have one of those that I'm in the process of repainting. The funny thing about it is, I think I paid about the same price for mine at a train show in Colorado when I lived there.

That's a good question. The description sounds familiar, but I can't put a name with it right now.
