Louis- that is why I’m on a daily potassium supplement. One of the meds I take for prevention of kidney stones is a “water pill”, which in turn flushes the kidneys(& takes potassium with it).

Thank you for the condolences on Vin’s passing. There is going to be a public memorial before tonight’s game vs San Diego. He lived a good, long life to age 94. I told my wife when Sandi passed away last year, from ALS, that Vin wouldn’t be far behind. Vin is the one who introduced me to the...

Johnsonville is ok, if you can't find better(like Usinger, Klement's or Wentzel)

Is that Barney Jr or Opie?
-
Karl- Roy Rogers brings back some memories, like the Double-R Bar Burger. I worked at RR in the late 80’s, across the street from Kiddie City(now AAA Hobbies) in Magnolia.

My jaw dropped when Joe Davis broke the news during the telecast of last night's ballgame at Oracle. Fitting that he passed away during a Dodgers-Giants series. I'm still struggling to put my thoughts into the right words.

I could tell that was dt Portage. We go right thru Portage when we go visit MIL’s side of the family in Watertown.

At one time, Popeyes also owned Church’s Fried Chicken.

Good morning interweb peeps. 77 & breezy here in the heart of the Dairy State with a high around 82. Sitting at the farmer’s market at Festival Foods with SWMBO, selling her handmade wares. Only 2 appointments tomorrow(cognitive & vision therapy)- about 2 hours & 30some miles apart. Doing the...

We have a few Amish communities in the surrounding counties(the town where I live is bisected by one county line & another is just off to the west a short bit). The farm next to the one that is in front of my FIL’s hunting woods is Amish. We have Mennonites in the area, too. When I do the...

Joe- when Witness was filmed, my Dad was working in Center City & saw them filming the lunch scene in the city(the one where Samuel belched).
-
Todd- the Pamida stores that were still open in 2012 were either closed or converted to Hometown ShopKo. ShopKo has since closed a few years back. The storefront in Weston

Definitely agree that Southern Lake States(Lower MI, IN, OH & Northern IL) have a totally different accent than the Upper Midwest(Dakotas, MN & Iowa). The Badger State has Wisconsinese & the Upper Peninsula of MI has the Yoopers, which are a different dialect from WI.

Dave- that’s what I enjoyed about my previous employment. I got to talk to people all across the U.S. & listen to the various accents(both regional ones as well as immigrants).

Cool temps for this week… highs in the 70’s all week.
Willie- I lived there 42 years & I agree. Why?
Patrick- wasn’t the Dr. Demento Show where WAY got his start in comedy?
Troy- my mom is one of 13, but none of her siblings married someone with the same name as one of their siblings(but my...

Tom O- not to worry, the flakes could start flying in just a few months.
Sherril- as long as she doesn’t ask you to dig a 36 x 72 x 72, you’re still in her good graces.
Jeff/Chad- for me, I’d hafta to say Louie Weaver or Duncan Phillips. Keyboard- Eddie DeGarmo, John Lawry or Mark Gersmehl...

Sorry for your loss. Sounds like she lived a good long & well-lived life.

Louis- Yes, that was his 3rd WS title. One in Brooklyn, one at LAMC & a 3rd in Queens. He was traded by the Mets to become manager of the Senators(II) before coming back to NY to manage in Flushing. Kaat pitched 3 times in the ‘65 Fall Classic for the Twins- faced Sandy Koufax all 3 times. Lost...
-
Louis- I’m just glad that Joan was alive yet when Gil finally got inducted into Cooperstown. He led the majors in so many categories for the decade of the 1950’s- just didn’t win any individual titles in a single season, so he was often overlooked. I was pretty sure that his daughter Irene would...
-
Louis- you sound like me when it comes to power carts & ADA parking. If I’m having a good day, leave it for someone who needs it more than me.
TomO- my SIL is the curator for the LaCrosse County Historical Society. She & hubby lost power at home and had down limbs both at home & the HS that they...
