San Francisco Cablecar or Streetcar by Occre

Absolutely wonderful! Beautiful model of a California Line car. May I please copy the photo of the finished model to send to a former colleague? Worked for Muni in maintenance, and the cable Cars were built at the yard I was assigned. It would take about 1 year start to finish to build a...

What freight mfgs have the best cars of all kinds

My favorites are old Athearn Blue Box, add KD and metal wheels, adjust weight and coupler height and easy to maintain. If you want to add details easy to do. During an op session if they get banged up, easy repair. Fall on the floor and damaged. strip the couplers and wheels and use the shell...

My poor track laying causing derailments, any fix?

The photo in the middle is also a track gauge manufactured by Kadee. There are several different manufacturers, but these were at the local hobby shop. I use these, one on each side of the gap/joint to hold the rails in gauge while soldering. Then use the NMRA gauge and spare truck off a car...

    RTR powered freight/reefer 'pusher' car

A member of a module club known for his whimsical models had a powered reefer that had a superman figure pushing the car, cape fluttering behind. I wish I had taken a photo. He used, my belief it was called a Spud truck and it was operating DCC. That little solo car flying along the tracks...

My poor track laying causing derailments, any fix?

Not sure if you have these tools but they are a good investment. These tools greatly improved my track laying along with practice. NMRA Track Guage. and a few of these ( these are Kadee but there are others) and a few jewelers' files ( Harbor Freight $4)

    Tow Boat

Is the tow boat in the cover photo of Walther's Bascule Bridge a Blue Jacket Ship Crafters product, or a different manufacturer? River Tow Boat looks like it needs some detail work. Is there any other kit producers. The Kibri push boat is of European design (duh) and wouldn't be found in...
