    What's happening on your layout?

    This is another area that I've been spending some time on. The fence is Walthers corrugated fencing. It took me two kits to do this area. The overhead pipe rack is an old Tyco signal bridge that I had. I used some model sprues to make the piping. Lots of Walthers products in this area.

    After all these years I finally get to do this. Lots of trial and error but I feel I'm getting better the more that I do. I figured Id start in the yard where its open and flat. This was also my chance to try different ballast colors.

    I purchased this Walthers Sanding Tower off of Amazon for $15. It took me over an hour to assemble. It works well on my Walthers Diesel Fueling facility.It is quite detailed compared to the real deal.

    Black? White? Grey or some other Primer thats the question!?

    speaking from past experiences, lighter colored primer makes primary and secondary colors brighter whereas darker primer tones these colors down. it has the same effect on earth tones but not to the same degree. if you put the same color over two different primer colors it wont match.

    Two months(ish) progress

    Im now 6 monthish in and fully operational. pardon the elementary school paint. Its how i imagine what is what. Im about to start shaping rock faces and then ballasting. lots of scene separating to do with trees and such planned. Advice and opinions welcomed.
