Why did this sell so high?

I put a lot of stuff in my Ebay watchlist just to see how it does sometimes - its suprising what things sell for - you can find some great deals and also see some really dumb prices. I recently watched a Proto 2000 boxcar go for $65. It wasn't anything special, except it was for sale by Dans...

Looking for advice On large HO collection

Sounds like you have a lot of Brass engines there. You could try contacting Dan at Brasstrains.com or any other large brass dealers and see if they ever buy collections, or look at what they have listed for a ballpart on prices. Any C&NW (Chicago Northwestern) class H or H-1 engines in your...

Found A Large Box Of Trains HELP!!!!!

The Santa Fe Atlas Locomotive is worth $40-70 depending on condition. The IHC 4-8-2 is probably in the same range. The atlas car is worth $10, the rest isnt worth much more than $1-3.

    Another WTH Ebay Moment

I spend a lot of time on ebay looking through various road names for items, probably a few times a week for the past 4 years. I see a lot of repeat items and what amazes me how you can have two identical items in the same condition and one may sell for double the other with same shipping cost...

    Proto 1000 F3 Frame

I do not believe it will fit. I had a proto 1000 shell that wouldnt fit on a stewart chassis (oppisite of your situation). I do know the intermountain shells fit on the stewart chassis.

    BLI Paragon vs Paragon2

I have a paragon C&O T-1 and a 2 paragon2 mikados. I think they are both good, I actually like the QSI sound for steam engines and it sounds good at high speeds (their diesel sounds are not very good, but that has been beat to death on many forums). I dont like that it is lacking BEMF, have...

Loco "does not run in reverse"

Did you end up buying the Daylight? If so, how does it run?

Loco "does not run in reverse"

Does anyone have the BLI GS4? I thought about getting one once and all the reviews were pretty bad - issues like this one with bad drivetrain or sound not working, etc. I just wondered if this was just a few outspoken people or if the loco had really poor quality control. I have two of their...

    my first kit

Regarding this: "also to anyone else, where can I pick up these metal replacement pieces? if im gonna do it I might as well do it properly!! " I have built about 30 of the blueprint kits and the details they come with are fairly durable and as long as you are careful you wont have any...

    my first kit

Brancline kits build very nicely detailed cars. They do take a while to build and there are many small parts, but the parts do go together easily. If this is your first kit ever, I would start with an old BB athearn or a Accurail boxcar.

LEDs & Resistors - need help

I dont like to solder resistors to LEDs (just not that good at it). I understand there are some LED's out there that have resistors already soldered on, which is much better for me. Anyone know a good spot to buy 10-20 LEDs that would work for this? They would be soldered to a soundtraxx...

What is a good donor loco for a proto GP7?

I did try sanding the small black/gray cylinders (cannot remember their name) that ride on the springs in the motor. It did not seem to help. I also put a drop of oil on the bearings. Still loud. What else can I do to tune up the motor?

What is a good donor loco for a proto GP7?

I have a set of 2 Proto GP7's. I have already replaced the wheelsets due to the bad axles. I am going to be adding sound to one of them and MU together, so I want them to both run really smooth and quiet. I know many people have used parts from the stewart F's to rebuild these. My question...

Tsunami in a Intermountain F7 - Help needed

Thanks again. I have one other question - if I were to use a BW1000 board from soundtraxx - link below - would this work without any modification to the lights? It is supposed to be setup for a stewart model with leds. http://www.soundtraxx.com/dsd/tsunami/tsuBW1000.php

Tsunami in a Intermountain F7 - Help needed

Thanks for the reply. Would it be better to use a AT1000 then over a GN1000 board? What would happen if I put 1.5v to an LED - would it not work or just be dim? I wish that someone made a board that would work with the intermountain plugs they provide....

Tsunami in a Intermountain F7 - Help needed

I have a A-B-A set of F7's that are currently standard DC. I want convert one of the units to DCC/Sound using a Tsunami and the rest will be DCC only. The problem I am running into is I do not know enough about lighting and what Tsunami board to buy. The Intermountain F7's have LED's for...
