Thanks, I'll look into the 3-way switch. Is there a specific one for model RRing I should be looking for? I'm also looking to getting 2 inexpensive starter DCC locomotives. Is there a place anyone can recommend? I'm looking on eBay and they're all right around the $50 mark, i've seen a few...

Thanks, I also read some place that the Zephyr can control turnouts as well. Does this require a special turnout track?

Can some one tell me what the Digatrax can do over the Bachmann? Other than expansion whats the reason that this is the better of the two? Thanks.

Thanks. I just want to make sure that system isn't going to be overkill. The layouts 8x12 and ill only have 3 locos on it for now. The thing i like about the bachmann is its got all i need. Thanks for the advice guess ill think about it over the weekend.

With the Bachmann I was looking at getting the combo set with the controller, 2 locos and track. I found on eBay for around 160. Does digitrax offer anything like that?

Thanks. Ill probably stick with the bachmann. As much as I'd like to dive in head first with this it will probably be a slow process to start. If I can get 2 or 3 LoCos running on my layout ill be happy.

Thanks Gary. I have the layout as you can see, but DCC seems much easier and more convenient than my old DC layout will be. The Bachmann Digital Commander comes with 2 DCC ready locomotives which would a good place to start. I'm just trying to decide if its better to get the DCC Command...

Hey guys, i'm thinking of getting a DCC starter kit. I'm wondering if the Bachmann DCC Command Control System is the way to go? You all know what i'm going to have it hooked up to so just wondering your suggestions. I have one on eBay i'm keeping an eye on. I will have to get a DCC ready...

*****UPDATE***** I just got back from my parents house, the track is in good condition, very little oxidizing on the track. Some of the track is nickle and some is brass. I talked to my dad, only 1 train was ran at a time on here, the balloon loop was never functional he said (even though I...

Back sitting at work wasting some. I'm getting ahead of myself but I was looking at some of the new locomotives, mostly the DCC ones and I noticed the hooks or couplings that connect to the rolling stock are different than what I have. All my rolling stock is 15-20 years old so I guess I have...

I'll have to see what kind of shape its in if it works great, if not maybe I'll replace it or spend some time trying to get it to work. I'll be keeping you all updated for sure. Thanks for all the advice so far and kind welcomes!

Thanks, my plan is to get it all set up and go though the wiring, I'm going to keep to layout and add to it. The more I look at it the more I really like the layout and want to make it work.
