The only time my boxes are empty is when the unit is on the tracks. Otherwise I use small plastic containers from the dollar store. Each one is labeled with contents.

I accidentally let my subscription lapse. Paid a week later. Knowing I would miss the February issue. Still waiting for the March issue to appear in the mailbox. If it doesn’t, it’s the last time I will subscribe to a print version. Like others, YouTube and forums are the go to for me.

I hope you have a way to access the rear which seems to be against the wall in your pictures. Maybe sliding it over some away from the wall if you have room. Duck unders can get to be a pain in the neck especially when you get older.

I try to limit to around 60 feet in length. So auto racks, intermodal and 89 foot cars are not in my collection. I run Susquehanna and Norfolk Southern 4 axle power. Model a free lanced division that is non signaled.

Metal wheels only. Intermountain are my go to wheels. I have many axle lengths that are separated by size to fit any wheelset regardless of the manufacturer.

Did some research before posting. I have yet to buy a brand new anything in model railroading. Everything I own is used. It’s my strategy to make offers towards the end of train shows. Easier to pack up cash than the items that I bargain for.

I’m also in N scale. I have short, medium and long length extensions for my MTL’s. This way if the spacing between cars is wrong, I can swap out to the next size up. Also depends on your curve radius.

I’m well stocked with MTL prebuilt couplers. Purchased a large quantity of each length of couplers. The biggest issue I have is finding Intermountain metal wheels that I prefer. They seem to be plentiful when I don’t have the extra money and darn near unobtainium when I have the extra money.

I haven’t had any issues with MTL couplers. My entire collection uses them. I’m using the prebuilt ones. They’re more expensive but less hassle of trying to assemble them.

I purchase DCC ready only. This way I can just install a decoder if I decide to go DCC. With just me operating short trains, I don’t see a reason for sound. I’ve already speed matched the locos and have marked their cases to which ones they are closest in speed to.

Protolance as well. My main road is NS. Secondary is NYSW. My freelance is FKDX…FiveKidsDadX. Scenery is generic but with industry names from the past.

Go Kato. Learned this lesson the hard way. I have Bachmann EZ Track. The track is fine but the switches are not the best. I’ve had to tweak almost all of my switches to get them to work more smoothly. Still have a couple that need more work. My plans are for full track replacement of Kato only.

My twin 9 year old autistic boys are currently watching any Thomas related videos they can find. We have plenty of wooden railway and plastic toys. They even have the characters in their simulator games, in the Minecraft world and in drawings.

My experience with Bachmann in N scale hasn’t been good. The EZ Track is the only thing that I have from the starter set I purchased years ago. Learned how to tune the switches to get good performance from them. My locomotives are either Atlas or Kato. Rolling stock is everything but Bachmann. I...

Only have 3. NS, NYSW & FKDX. The last one is my short line railroad, FiveKidsDadX.
