Good evening all.
Willie. I do not miss my model railway whilst away. My other interests keep me busy. (Ships, transport and road haulage.) I know my layout is in good hands. My grandchildren are the operators.
In Concord, Mass for a day or three before returning to Albany. Then...

Good morning all.
This journey around the world is about seeing things and travelling to places both my wife and I wish to see etc.
Railroading is not high on our list. Having said that whilst in Boston, my good Lady saw an oil painting of a locomotive. (I did not see it, so no idea what...

It was wonderful visiting extended family. Much nicer than on a telephone; a model railroad show an added bonus.
My good Lady wants to visit Boston. It is on her 'bucket list'.
Then we will tour the area and travel to Toronto, Canada. Our daughter and family are there.

Been to the local model railroad exhibition today. It was busy throughout the day. Much livelier than back in the U.K.. Operators were more engaging; showing people their layouts and explaining how they built them. All in all very entertaining.

Arrived in Albany NY. It's really good to meet an extended family in person rather than talking on the telephone.

Willie. All our time at sea will be onboard cargo ships. We have an open ticket around the world. All we have to do is contact the Shipping Company of our plans and book a ship.. Our cabins are all the Owner's Suite, so we know there is some luxury on board whichever ship.

You mention Lake Geneva. I thought you were mentioning the one in Switzerland.
We were there on our way to Italy.

Our next leg of our journey to Australia is now booked
It means we have six weeks to travel on trains to Albany, to Toronto, then across Canada.
Then a ship to Sydney in June, calling at Panama City and Auckland, New Zealand first.

I know of them.
I had good news about my mother when she was a young teenager.
Now I have seven challenging days of remembrance.
Tomorrow, the 10th March my older twin sister was two hours old when she passed to the other side and returned 'home'.
On the 13th my mother joined her.
On the 17th...

Excellent!
Now write it all down, so the information is not lost.
Write down 'milestones' in your life.
Then hand it all to a young member of your family. They are the ones who will be interested.
I wish I had asked more questions about my family when I could. So much information is...

It has taken me 70 odd years to find that out. :)
The story handed down ----
'See that Scotch? woman. (My grandmother) Lets her kids run wild instead of teaching them manners on how to be ladies.' etc. etc.'
'Kids over by the airfield. They have no business being there.'...

During WW2 my mother was in the Air Transport Auxiliary.
As she lived to the age of 23, I wondered (often) where she learned to fly aircraft?
According to the information I have just been told, a new airport was being built and being a 'tomboy' she hung around the hangar. Always asking...

Good morning all.
A weekend of meeting my family in Allentown.
It will be good to meet them in person.
Dawn is thrilled to be able to meet a girl who is named after her. I mentioned earlier that Dawn has a Greek name as her first name. The name Alethea is now being carried on through our...
