Couple of problems with an old FSM Ice Station

I bought this kit several years ago and decided to open it up and build it. $5 was the price on the box and there isn't much in the box. The little rocks for the base and the plan with a few pieces of basswood. I believe that I am installing it backwards, I think the ice should come off on...

Does anyone use a 1/2" sheet of glass for a work bench?

Took a while; but picked up the glass yesterday. The bevel was not what I had planned so they polished the 3/8 Inch thick of glass and I really do like it. I even have a taped piece of 120 sandpaper with a mat over that and my razon cuter over that. The 1/2 sheet of glass was just too small...

So what are you listening to right NOW?

I just heard this song recently and it is probably older than dirt; but since the first time; I listened to about 30 times. This is really great and I like the beat and noise.

    Sponge? What kind of sponge?

I've been watching a lot of videos about painting structures. It seems like sponges are they way to go. The "respected" modelers always mentions using the "same" of sponge. My question is what SAME ole sponge are they talking about; natural, synthetic, manufactured, expensive, sponge are they...

    Model Railroader subscribers?

I am at my "last issue of MR. Got it in the mail today. I will look at it tomorrow; but it is not like the Kalmbach issues by any means. Money is money; so I will seriously think about renewing. I am going to the VA Monday and I might look at a MRC; although I never did like them; The old...

So what are you listening to right NOW?

This could have been a rock opera; but it's just a segment of Pirates of the Caribbean sung by a up beat opera group. To me this song is so cool.

    Joan's Fancy Quilts

Not the best job I ever did; but Joan likes it, so that's all that counts

    Joan's Fancy Quilts

I had to have a shope for Joan. She has so many crafts, won many blue ribbons in Fairs, so I had to make Campbell's kit in her honor. She is just starting out and can't afford the higher class rent in other locals; so she is next to a biker bar and hustling a way to make a living. I will add...

So what are you listening to right NOW?

I may be in the silent generation; but I will say this: God Damn the Pusher. He's been around way to long and ruined to many lives

Tired of crawling under layout for vacuum

I own a 4.5hp Shop-Vac that I store under my layout for general cleaning and vacuuming between the tracks. I lost the mount and somehow forgot all about it. I was going to buy one and mount in somehow depending on the mount. I contacted Shop-Vac and told them I was looking for a mount and...

Does anyone use a 1/2" sheet of glass for a work bench?

Well I went whole hog and bought a 22 x 36 inch sheet of glass for my workbench. I like the feel of glass and I know it will be flat. The lead time is about 2-3 weeks lead time for the glass. Have to bevel it first and then heat treat and then it's mine. My work area has been bothering me for...

So what are you listening to right NOW?

So; you guys have no sense of humor. This was really funny years ago. The Bambi deer park was reference to a Los Angeles Amusement Park

Does anyone use a 1/2" sheet of glass for a work bench?

I "assumed" the piece that I bought was safety glass. I have not priced a larger piece; but my work bench top is particle board, but I do like glass. What is tempered glass opposed to safety glass? Like I said, I bought the 0.5 inch thick sheet pre-beveled from the bargain table and it now has...
