    Miss my trains

Looks great! I really like the copper color on that '57 BelAir!

    Forum Slow Again

I belong to 2 other forums, one vehicle related and one for scale models, and they are having the same issues. Waiting a few seconds for 'verification' is no big deal. If I knew who was doing it I'd send Luigi over to "persuade" him to change his ways. Luigi don't put up with stuff like that. 🥊🏥

    Miss my trains

That looks great, Chet! Figures really do add life to a layout. I know what you mean about missing your trains. We sold our house at the beginning of the year and had to downsize to an apartment. No room for a layout now. :( I kept the loco's that were most important to me, and the Branchline...

    airbrush painting

Not all acrylics are water based. Vallejo is, as are many others. Tamiya, on the other hand, is an alcohol based based acrylic. There are several other brands of alcohol based acrylics as well. This is a half hour well spent: I airbrush with nothing but water based acrylics, mostly Vallejo...

    Decals......the basics

Gaahleri (https://www.gaahleri.com/) has introduced a line of water based acrylics designed to be applied un-thinned. I haven't used them myself, but I follow several scale modeler's on YouTube, and they seem quite impressed with them. They have also come out with a color matching program to...

HO Code 100 cross over for parallel tracks

And if you ever want a double crossover 4 #6 turnouts (2 left, 2 right) and a 19 degree crossing will make a double turnover with a track spacing of 3-1/2", IIRC.

    What's happening on your layout?

Thanks, guys! I appreciate it! I really like our apartment. I like not having to shovel snow! :) As far as a switching layout, I really don't know where I'd put even THAT! Here are a couple pics of my little corner of the world: The desk is an L shaped unit I bought at Walmart. Wally and...

    What's happening on your layout?

What's happening on MY layout? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. And nothing ever will again. 😢 Because the layout is gone. Due to circumstances I won't go into, my wife and I found it necessary to sell our house and move into a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment. So the layout had to come down and go...

    California High Speed Rail.

Lincoln, Ne started planning for it's South Beltway (a route to divert heavy trucks around the southern edge of the city rather than through the city) back in the 1960's. It's been open for traffic for about 2 years. https://dot.nebraska.gov/projects/future-projects/lincoln-south-beltway/

Can an oval layout bring as much fun and enjoyment like a club layout?

I wouldn't mind going out in public if it weren't for all the people.

    Tru-Color Paints

Yes, I used Testors Model Master white primer. Water based acrylics pretty much demand a primer first. I still have just a little Model Master primer left. When it's gone, it's gone forever! 😢
