    Honestly, I don't know what to do

    Since Jonestown is a big flat piece, why not make the entire town of Jonestown removable, then just lift it out and work on the track. Has the extra added benefit that you can remove Jonestown and work on it "on the work bench" rather than trying to detail it way back on the layout.
